Healing is an essential mechanic in FragPunk, enabling you to stay alive and remain active even after taking damage. Understanding the various healing methods in the game is key to long-term survival and enhancing your performance in matches. This guide will cover the different ways you can heal in FragPunk.
Different Ways to Heal in FragPunk
Healing with Medkits in FragPunk
The primary and most common way to heal in FragPunk is by using Medkits. These green, crystal-like shards have a chance to drop when players shoot Treasure—golden, cube-shaped structures that contain randomized loot during a match. Treasure can be found in various locations across every map, making Medkits easily accessible for those needing to restore health.
Although Medkits are a type of loot, they cannot be stored in a player’s inventory. Instead, they must be used immediately upon collection. To heal with a Medkit, players simply need to approach it and hold the interact button, consuming the Medkit and restoring 30 health.
Healing Through Shard Cards in FragPunk
Another way to restore health in FragPunk is by using specific Shard Cards. As a core gameplay mechanic, Shard Cards offer a wide range of unique effects, with some specifically designed to provide healing benefits.
However, players can’t rely on healing Shard Cards consistently, as activating them requires spending earned Shard Points alongside teammates. At the start of each round, a random selection of the team’s available Shard Cards becomes accessible. Below is a breakdown of all the Shard Cards that currently offer healing effects in FragPunk:
- Health Club (5 Shard Points): Increases max HP by 25 points.
- Cure Shot (4 Shard Points): Shoot teammates to heal them.
- Beauty Sleep (3 Shard Points): Grants the ability to sleep and heal.
- Regenerative Therapy (4 Shard Points): Slowly restores HP over time.
- King of Eggs (5 Shard Points): Crouch for 10 seconds to lay a healing egg that players can consume.
- Dr. Converter (3 Shard Points): Heals nearby teammates while carrying the Converter.
- HUD Remix (3 Shard Points): Tear off your health bar and swap health with a target Lancer.
- Vampire Night (5 Shard Points): Grants vampire powers, evolving with damage dealt (offers lifesteal and passive HP regen).
- Squat Master (5 Shard Points): Increases max HP each time you crouch.
- Whetstone (4 Shard Points): Melee attacks, even on teammates, restore HP.
- Holistic Deadicine (Variable Shard Points): Regain HP when eliminating enemies. More Shard Points increase its power.
- Vampire Bullet (Variable Shard Points): Converts a percentage of bullet damage into HP. More Shard Points increase its power.
- Morale Booster (4 Shard Points): When the Converter is planted, allied skill uses are restored, and HP is fully healed.
- Maximum Overhealth (4 Shard Points): Allows healing beyond max HP, up to an extra 25 points.
- Skill Vampire (2 Shard Points): Restores 100% of damage dealt with skills as HP.
- Smoke Shields (4 Shard Points): Staying in smoke increases max HP.
- Superhuman (Variable Shard Points): Boosts healing, speed, and damage reduction from skills. More Shard Points increase its power.
- Band-Aid Solution (4 Shard Points): Restores a small amount of HP when injured.
- Hold The Pass (2 Shard Points): Rapidly regains HP when standing on a bridge.
- Heavy Armor (5 Shard Points): Grants a random ally a health buff at the cost of reduced damage output.
- Healing Site A (Variable Shard Points): Creates a healing zone when the Converter is planted at Site A. More Shard Points increase its power.
- Healing Site B (Variable Shard Points): Creates a healing zone when the Converter is planted at Site B. More Shard Points increase its power.
These Shard Cards offer a variety of healing options, from passive regeneration to unique mechanics like healing through crouching, melee attacks, or bullets. Choosing the right healing Shard Cards can greatly improve survivability in FragPunk.
Healing with the Oasis Guardian Relic
Players can also regain health through the Oasis Guardian Relic, the only Relic capable of restoring HP. This Relic grants passive health regeneration, but only when your team has activated all three Shard Cards in a round. Due to this requirement, its healing effect typically becomes beneficial in later rounds, making it a valuable option for players who want to recover health gradually over time.
To use the Oasis Guardian Relic, players must equip it as their active Relic during the Shard Card selection phase of a round.
Healing with Pathojen’s Emotional Rescue Skill
While Medkits are the most common way to restore health, players can also heal using a specific Lancer’s Skill. Currently, Pathojen is the only Lancer in FragPunk with a healing ability, which comes from her Emotional Rescue Skill. This is her first Skill, and when activated, she deploys a biomedical device that generates a healing field, restoring health to all allies within its radius.
Both Pathojen and her teammates will gradually regain health while inside this healing aura, making it a valuable tool for keeping the squad in peak condition. Additionally, it serves as a tactical option to retreat and recover when fights become overwhelming. The ability can be used twice before needing to be replenished, giving players two chances to heal during engagements.
