How to Head to the Peace Bell Tower at Zi Hour Tomorrow – Where Winds Meet ‘A Duel of Wits’

If you’re trying to complete “A Duel of Wits” in Where Winds Meet, one of the trickiest steps is heading to the Peace Bell Tower at Zi Hour. This part of the quest starts after you debate with He Wanchun and sends you on a short investigation. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything step-by-step so you know exactly where to go, how to set the right time, and how to reach the top of the Peace Bell Tower without getting lost.

How to Start A Duel of Wits

After you defeat He Wanchun in the Rhetoric Battle, this part of the Gift of Gab: Silver Tongue exploration quest will automatically begin. Your first stop is the southern side of Moonveil Mountain. Just follow the quest marker until you come across a group of distressed men kneeling on the ground.

Use Wind Sense to scan the area. You’ll eventually spot a trail of footprints. Follow them down the cliff and towards the shoreline. Swim across the water and check out the pile of crates nearby. From there, eavesdrop on the conversation between the two people talking from separate boats.

Next, make your way to Riverside Station and look for the Humble Monk mentioned by the people on the boats. He’ll be sitting right outside a prison cell. Talk to him to start a Rhetoric Duel. Once you win the debate, speak with Tang Xinci, then head out to find He Wanchun again. He’ll be standing on a rope bridge just south of Heaven’s Pier, along with Chu the Twelfth.

Talk to them to trigger another Rhetoric Duel, this time against Chu the Twelfth. After you win, go to Tang Xinci’s boat, located in the same spot where you previously listened in on her conversation with Chu the Twelfth, south of the Palace of Annals. Read the letter on the boat, then climb up Peace Bell Tower. Meet Tang Xinci there at Zi hour to continue the quest.

Setting the Correct Time of Day

Before you start climbing, you need to change the time to Z Hour. Open your Start menu and look at the clock on the right side. Switch it to Z Hour and confirm. The game will instantly skip ahead to the next day. Once that’s done, you’re ready to head inside the tower.

Starting the Climb

You’ll begin the climb from the outside of the tower. Follow the path up the outer ledges until you reach a spot where the game prompts you to use your climbing ability (on PlayStation, this is L3).

Eventually, you’ll reach the room with the bell. Your main goal is to go even higher. Pass through the bell area and head for the small side balcony. This is the key to reaching the next level.

From the balcony near the bell, step outside and look for the wooden plank hanging over the ledge. Walk onto it, then double jump upward toward the top platforms.

Right after you do this, the quest will update, confirming you’re in the correct place. Keep climbing upward, and use your climbing ability again when the prompt appears.

Once you reach the final rooftop area, you’ll find the spot where the duel begins. Interact with it to start the small card-based mini-game. Once you finish the mini-game, the quest will be complete.
