In Marathon, getting Purple-tier loot can give you very good gear that is stronger than the basic gear. However, finding them is not easy as they are scattered all over the map and spawn in random locations. There are a few ways to get Purple loot during your run, such as using keycards and data pads, defeating strong enemies, and upgrading your weapons with better mods. In this guide, we will tell you how to guarantee Purple Loot in the Marathon.
How to Get Purple Loot

To find Purple Loot in Marathon, collect keycards or data pads during your run. You can get these items from:
- UESC bots
- Lockers are scattered around the map
- Purple armour UESC bots
These enemies and containers often drop the items that you will need to locate the hidden loot caches.
Once you get the date pad or keycard, a blue icon will appear on your map. This icon marks the location connected to the data pad. When you reach the area, you can find another data pad or a cache location.
After you gather all the necessary data pads, the map will update and show a blue icon. Go to this location and interact with it. This will automatically use the data pad you collected and unlock the cache.
These caches are one of the most reliable ways to get Purple-tier loot in Marathon. Once you have collected the Purple gear from the cache, go to the extraction point and leave the match safely with your rewards.
Purple Tier Weapon
You can also get Purple by defeating boss enemies. These enemies are easy to find because they usually have a yellow shield bar and are stronger than normal enemies. When you manage to kill one of them, there is a good chance that they will drop Purple-tier loot.
You can also get Purple equipment by upgrading your weapons with good mods. As you add better mods, the weapon tier will increase and with the right upgrades, a grey weapon will become a Purple-tier weapon.
