Reaching the Moon in Dig isn’t something you can do right off the bat—it’s a major milestone that requires dedication, a bunch of in-game progress, and completing a specific quest. But once you’re there, you’ll unlock some of the most powerful gear in the game. Here’s how you can get started and make your way to this end-game destination.
How to “Start Out of This World” Quest
To begin your journey to the Moon in Dig, you’ll first need to visit the Observatory, located at the far edge of Copper Mesa island. Start by speaking to the Ferryman at Cinder Shores and taking the ferry to Copper Mesa. Once you arrive, summon a vehicle and drive across the island, away from the ferry docks, until you reach the cliffside where the Observatory is perched. You can either scale the ladders outside or use the elevator hidden within a nearby cave to reach the top. Right outside the Observatory, you’ll come across an NPC named Sir Moonsalot, who gives you the “Out of This World” quest, your gateway to reaching the Moon.
