The Harrowing Spire stance mod is a key upgrade for the Vinquibus, Warframe’s rifle, bayonet hybrid introduced in The Old Peace update. While it doesn’t radically change the available move set for this weapon, it does offer bonus mod capacity and improve its overall performance, making it an important pickup for players planning to fully build and use Vinquibus.
Vinquibus Stance Overview

The Old Peace update introduced a new category of weapon, the hybrid Vinquibus, to Warframe’s arsenal. The Vinquibus is different from conventional melee weapons in that it acts as both a rifle and a bayonet. The Vinquibus also has its own unique stance mod, Harrowing Spire, developed specifically for this weapon class.
Unlocking Harrowing Spire does not create a significant shift in how the weapon feels in terms of usability, rather it enhances your options of weapon builds. If you want to invest time and resources into Vinquibus, investing in unlocking Harrowing Spire is worth it.
Unlocking the Vinquibus
You’ll need access to Descendia and for this you must complete The Old Peace quest so that you can start working towards Vinquibus. Descendia is launched by way of the Dark Refractory, which is the method through which you will obtain the materials needed to craft weapons.
There’s also a second route. Roathe, found in La Cathedrale within the Sanctum Anatomica, sells Vinquibus parts in exchange for Maphica. This currency is earned exclusively by playing Descendia, so either way, the mode is unavoidable.
Actual weapon components are rewarded after completing the 21st Infernum, making extended Descendia runs necessary before you can assemble the weapon.
Getting the Harrowing Spire Stance Mod
The Harrowing Spire stance is tied to the same activity. It can drop during Descendia missions, either from finishing Infernum stages or by smashing containers scattered throughout the map. These drops share their pool with Uriel components, so expect some RNG before the stance appears.
Combat-wise, Harrowing Spire focuses heavily on crowd control. Heavy attacks and both stationary and moving block combos reliably knock enemies back or launch them upward. Any combo that fires the rifle portion of Vinquibus still counts as melee damage, allowing it to scale with melee mods.
How Vinquibus Passives Work
Because Vinquibus takes up both your primary and melee slots, it relies on built-in passives to justify that trade-off. The weapon includes two effects that feed directly into each other:
- Vinquibus Ferocity (Bayonet Mode): Melee kills grant perfect ammo efficiency for the rifle’s next four shots, stacking up to sixteen shots.
- Vinquibus Precision (Rifle Mode): Landing headshots boosts melee damage by 250% for the next two melee strikes. This effect stacks up to sixteen attacks.
Used properly, these passives create a loop where shooting strengthens melee and melee sustains shooting. The weapon performs best when you alternate between firing and stabbing instead of committing to one mode exclusively.
