If you want to add a powerful close-range weapon to your loadout in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the shotgun is a great option to pick up early. While it’s not available right from the start, you can unlock it naturally as you progress through the main story. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find the shotgun, how to unlock it, and what makes it useful once you get your hands on it.
How To Get The Shotgun
You can only get the Shotgun after the game opens up the full world of Pandora. As you progress through the main story, you’ll eventually reach the Resistance Headquarters. While you’re there, you’ll meet Alexandar Tremayne, who gives you a Systems Interrogation Device (SID). This device lets you hack and override RDA security systems, which is what you need to access the Shotgun later on.
Once you have the SID, head back to the Fueling Station southeast of the Resistance Headquarters. Look for a yellow chest sitting near an abandoned truck. Stand in front of it, pull out your SID hacking tool, and interact with the chest. This opens a simple hacking puzzle. Solve it, and the supply box will unlock, rewarding you with your very first shotgun in the game.
The shotgun is a big help in fights, especially early on. It hits hard and doesn’t need perfect aim, which makes it great for close-range encounters. It works well against groups of soldiers and smaller animals, but it struggles against armoured enemies like AMP suits and large creatures.
