How to Get the New Weapon ‘Daggers’ in V Rising 1.1 V Blood – Bane The Shadowblade

In V Rising 1.1, the Daggers weapon type can be unlocked by defeating Bane the Shadowblade, a powerful Level 47 V Blood boss. Taking him down not only rewards you with the Veil of Bones dash spell and Human Form, but also grants access to new dagger-based abilities and crafting recipes. This guide will walk you through his location, attack patterns, and fight strategy.

Bane The Shadowblade Location

Bane wanders the roads of Dunley Farmlands disguised as a human and won’t start a fight unless provoked. Once his disguise wears off, nearby people will often attack him right away. If the guards join in, it can make the battle a lot easier for you.

Bane The Shadowblade Attacks

  • Triple Slash: He’ll strike you three times with his blade, the third one is a lunging attack that can knock you down and leave you vulnerable.
  • Triple Knife Throw: He quickly dashes away, then hurls three knives your way.
  • Dark Spin: As he mutters cryptic phrases about darkness and black magic, he performs a purple spinning slash that hits everything around him.
  • Teleport Strike: He vanishes for a moment, then suddenly reappears near you to deliver a powerful blow that can knock you off your feet.
  • Into the Shadows: Before disappearing, he’ll say something ominous. A crowd of cloaked figures appears, he’s hiding among them. Attack the wrong one, and you’ll trigger a swarm of Skeletal Warriors and Undead Assassins.
  • Shadow Clone: When his health drops below 50%, his dash (after the knife throw) leaves behind a shadowy clone that mimics the knife attack.
  • Brutal and Incursion Rift (Special Mechanics):
    • In Brutal mode, he can chain his knife throws in rapid succession.
    • In Incursion mode, “Into the Shadows” gains a visible aura. The cloaked minions summoned here are even deadlier, Draculin mobs.

Bane The Shadowblade’s fight strategy

Preparation is key before facing Bane. Make sure you’re at least level 47 and bring iron-tier weapons (even unupgraded ones will work with the right setup). Equip the Veil of Blood dash skill, as it provides a good mix of mobility and survivability through leeching. For spells, Chaos Volley with a Void Abyss socket is excellent for damage and movement speed boosts, while Cyclone (from the Gloomrot update) provides strong AoE and crowd control. Don’t forget your potions, Brew of Ferocity for physical power and Enchanted Brew for spell damage. Blood Rose Potions and Vermin Salve are also good for staying alive through his harder phases.

Track Bane properly using the V Blood tracking system. He usually roams the northeast farmland area, disguised as a hooded figure among many others. Most of these are just skeletons in disguise, so tracking is essential. Once found, Bane opens the fight with basic attacks like triple slashes and knife throws. Dodge these and deal consistent damage using ranged skills and AoEs. Cyclone works especially well here due to his tendency to dash around and leave shadows.

Watch out for his key abilities. Bane’s Dark Spin (a purple AoE) can punish you heavily if you’re too close, back off and wait it out. His Teleport Strike and lunging slash both have incapacitating effects, so timing your dodge is critical. When his health drops below 50%, the fight gets trickier—his dash will leave behind shadow clones that also attack, so you’ll need to be aware of your surroundings constantly.

His ultimate ability, Into the Shadows, is the most dangerous phase. He disappears and summons a group of cloaked figures, one of which is him. Attacking the wrong one will spawn Skeletal Warriors and Undead Assassins, so use AoE spells like Cyclone to reveal and eliminate them quickly. Keep moving, use your dashes wisely, and stay topped off on health. Once Bane reappears, it’s a matter of repeating the earlier fight mechanics until he goes down. Defeating him rewards you with the Veil of Bones dash spell, human form, and other useful upgrades like the Small Coin Purse and access to Slashers.

Rewards for Defeating Bane the Shadowblade

  • Spells & Vampire Powers:

    • Human Form: Human Form allows vampires to blend in with humans and go unnoticed by most, primarily useful for trading with Rural Merchants in Dunley Farmlands and City Vendors in Silverlight Hills. However, Shady Vendors in Farbane Woods and the Treasure Hunter in Gloomrot North don’t require you to use Human Form. Be aware that some high-level enemies, like Paladins, Priests, and Lightweavers, can see through the disguise and will attack you on sight.
  • Recipes:
    • Daggers
  • Possible Loot:
    • Tier 6 Armour Recipe
  • You can no longer unlock the ability to craft Slashers.
  • You also won’t get a Tier 1 Unholy Spell Point from this anymore.
  • A bug has been fixed where feeding on Bane the Infiltrator’s minions would trap your vampire in the feeding animation, even while the Blood Soul kept attacking.
