In Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, there’s a quest called “A Woodcutter Needs an Axe” that asks you to find and deliver an Oak Axe. At first, this might seem confusing, especially if you’re not sure where to get the axe or how to make one. This guide will walk you through all the simple ways you can get an Oak Axe and complete the quest.
How to Get an Oak Axe
In Fantasy Life i, one of the quests you’ll come across is “A Woodcutter Needs an Axe.” To complete this quest, you’ll need to deliver an Oak Axe. There are a few simple ways to get one, and you might not even need to spend any Dosh.
The first method is buying the axe. You can find it in a few shops around Mysteria. The Tool Shop and the General Goods store in Eternia Village both sell the ordinary version of the Oak Axe for 900 Dosh. If you’re looking for a higher quality version, the Shop in Mysteria Capital offers an Oak Axe for 5000 Dosh.
Another method is by cutting down trees in the Mysteria region. Chopping trees will drop treasure chests. Inside these chests, you may find an Oak Axe.
Another way is, if you have chosen the Woodcutter Life, you will begin with a Borrowed Axe. You need to complete the first Woodcutter quest. After that, you will be rewarded with an Oak Axe.
A Woodcutter Needs an Axe Quest
A Woodcutter Needs an Axe begins with finding Wurke. After you have been asked to collect 10,000 Dosh for Auntie Ann, you will notice some NPCs in Eternia Village and the Mysteria Capital with quest markers. Head to the fountain near the Guild Hall in the capital, and you’ll spot Wurke standing nearby. Talk to him to receive this side quest.
You need to give Wurke an Oak Axe. He will only accept one that has a Good or Great quality rating. The store-bought ones won’t meet his standards.
How to Make an Oak Axe
To make the right kind of Oak Axe, you will need to switch to the Carpenter Life. To craft a normal Oak Axe, you will only need 3 Oak Lumber. To craft a Fine Oak Axe, you will need 3 Oak Lumber and 2 Bronze Ingots. Also, to craft a better version of the saw, buy a high-quality Oak Saw from the Luxurious Store in the capital.
Once you have gathered the materials, go ahead and craft it. You will need to be fast and accurate to hit enough Excellent and Great actions during the crafting minigame. Which will increase your chances of producing a Good quality tool.
At the end of the minigame, your performance will be graded as Failure, Done, Good Job, or Great Job. For tools like the Oak Axe, aiming for a Good Job or Great Job result usually means you will produce a better quality item.
Level up your Carpenter Life or craft a Fine Oak Saw with better stats. A stronger tool will boost your chances of hitting the quality mark you are aiming for. Now, once you have successfully crafted the Oak Axe. Go back to Wurke and give him. After that, you will be rewarded with 400 Dosh and a new crafting recipe: the Bountiful Harvest Box.
