If you’re in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and want to craft the best potions possible, you’ll need to get your hands on master-level alchemy tools. These tools greatly improve the effects and strength of your potions. You can check the benefits of each tool by clicking on your mortar and pestle in the inventory menu, where you’ll see how the tools impact potion-making. In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly how to find them, step by step.
How To Get Master Alchemy Supplies
Master Alchemy tools improve your potion effects. Each tool increases a different part of potion creation, and having all four makes a big difference. You have to find them in the game, usually in dungeons.
Master Alchemy Supplies Location
To find Master-level gear, your character level needs to be 17 or higher. If you are not quite there yet, level up before starting this hunt. One of the best places to farm for Master Alchemy tools is a cave called Ceyatatar. You will find it southwest of the Ceyatatar map marker.
Look for a cave entrance near a rock formation. Once you find it, save your game before going inside, because the loot inside this cave is random when you first enter. By saving before going in, you can reload the save and try again if you don’t get what you want.
Once inside, crouch and go left. Press a pressure plate to open a hidden wall, then head to the cask inside and check for Master Alchemy tools. If you don’t see any, reload your save and check again. There are two chests in the room that can contain alchemy tools. Check both to double your chances before reloading.
Repeat Until You Get All 4 Master Tools
Exit the cave and wait 3 full in-game days plus 1 hour without re-entering. After waiting, go back inside and check the loot again it should be refreshed. Repeat this process until you find what you need. This takes longer, but you will collect a bunch of valuable items to sell.
Keep repeating the loot-reset method (either the fast reloading way or the slower 3-day reset way) until you find:
- Master Mortar and Pestle
- Master Alembic
- Master Retort
- Master Calcinator
It can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. Once you find one of the Master tools, save your game again before continuing. That way, you don’t lose progress. Keep farming until you have got the full set.
