Getting a horse mount is one of the best things you can do if you want to start exploring the world of Where Winds Meet more quickly. Mounts not only allow you to travel faster but also greatly help you move, particularly when you are covering long distances or trying to escape danger. The game offers several different ways for you to get your first horse, regardless if you prefer to capture one early, tame one yourself, or buy one once the Mount System is available. This guide breaks down each method so you can ride out as soon as possible.
How to get Horse Mount
In Where Winds Meet, you will get access to the Mount System once you complete the main quest “For Whom Does He Return”, which is the finale of Chapter One’s arc. Upon its completion, the system will notify you via a message appearing on the left side of your screen that the use of mounts has been unlocked for you.
After this, a horse is not so hard to get. You have the option to either steal one from the NPC who is riding by, find and tame a wild horse, or buy one straight away from the shop in the game.
Stealing a Horse
If you want to have a horse in no time, the best and the simplest trick is to steal one. NPCs don’t mind much and are often seen riding on the roads, which is the perfect opportunity. As soon as you notice someone on horseback, simply walk to them and quickly ride their horse.
Just be quick; you’ll find most NPCs on your tail. But if you manage to create a distance, they will finally quit trying, and the horse will be yours. Once you’ve stolen a horse, it basically becomes yours. Even if you lose sight of it or wander too far, you can just call for it again, and it’ll come back to you.
Capturing a Horse
At the map area, you need to locate a place where wild horses appear. The area marked above is where wild horses can be found. Approach one from the back, activate the Veil of Stillness Mystic Art, and pick the Capture Horse option. A tiny mini-game will then be started where you must hit the correct directional buttons corresponding to the symbols displayed on your monitor. If you win, the horse is yours.
Buying a Horse
To start, open the main menu, then go to the Shop, and finally, select the Appearance tab. All you need to do there is to click on the small horse icon and make your purchase. After buying your horse, it will be possible to summon it whenever you want.
