Charcoal is important to obtain fuel for the Brewing Cauldron, as it is one of the few major components in RuneScape DragonWilds, especially in terms of the crafting of a Furnace. The point of unlocking such an item allows it to become the most valuable fuel in the game concerning brewing cauldrons, smelting ores, and cooking high-level items. Fortunately, making Charcoal is pretty straightforward because it is derived from wood. Unfortunately, you will require additional materials and the construction of certain buildings before gaining access to the Charcoal recipe. If you have any difficulty in the making of Charcoal, our guide will show you how to carry that out in detail.
How to Get Charcoal for Fuel in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Charcoal as a mid-to-late-game fuel for RuneScape DragonWilds is necessary for Furnace construction. Making Charcoal is uncomplicated if you have a Kiln and some wood. Follow the steps below for making your Kiln and using it for Charcoal production.
Step 1: Gather Clay
First things first: gather Clay, an important material needed for constructing the Kiln for Charcoal production. The ‘Whispering Swamps’ is to the north of ‘Bramblemead Valley’ and is the only place with deposits of Clay; do not waste your time looking for it anywhere else. Once you have reached the Whispering Swamps, keep your eyes peeled for Clay Nodes.
Don’t pass the Clay Nodes without mining, extract it using your Pickaxe. Faster mining can also be done through spells under DragonWilds such as ‘Rocksplosion,’ ‘Detect Clay + Ore’ to find Clay Nodes quickly; both belong to the Mining skill tree in DragonWilds.
Step 2: Construct the Kiln
So, after harvesting sufficient Clay from the Whispering Swamps, you will be required to construct a Kiln. This involves the following materials in RuneScape DragonWilds:
- 8 Ash Logs
- 20 Stones
- 6 Clay
- 10 Fire Runes
Ash logs and stones: gather them from tree mining and rock mining. Fire runes can be made by going to Rune Altar, and crafting them with Rune Essences. Now that you have gathered all materials, press the ‘B’ button to open the Build Menu. Then, go to Processing and select Kiln to create it under Crafting. You will need to place that kiln outside in an open area as it needs to be exposed for functioning properly.
Step 3: Crafting Charcoal
Once your Kiln is up and running, you can begin producing Charcoal. To do so, simply process any of the following materials in the Kiln:
- Ash Log (1:1 ratio)
- Ash Plank (1:1 ratio)
- Oak Log (1:1 ratio)
- Oak Plank (1:1 ratio)
Since each Ash or Oak Log can be converted into two Planks, you’ll get more Charcoal by turning the logs into planks before processing them. After crafting, Charcoal becomes a valuable fuel source for Brewing Cauldron, cooking and smelting in the Furnace.
And that’s everything you need to know about crafting Charcoal to get fuel for the Brewing Cauldron in the game!
