How to Get Frigate Large Ship – Skull and Bones

The Frigate is an extremely strong ship, large and heavy, which is capable of destroying any and all naval threats against players who want to completely dominate. It requires a lot of farming of materials, and you need to be able to gain access to the blueprint through completion of the Smuggler Pass, and then deal with Elite Warships. This guide will show you each step of building the Frigate, from unlocking the blueprint, to farming materials, and finally to crafting, so you can be successful in your undertaking of Frigate!

Unlocking the Frigate Blueprint

In Skull and Bones, the Frigate is one of the largest and most powerful ships. Unlocking the Frigate is a part of progression in the Smuggler Pass. The first step players must take is hit level 45 within the Smuggler Pass. After level 45 players are able to get the Frigate blueprint within the Milestone Rewards. The Frigate blueprint is very important because it will unlock the crafting recipe that will make the ship.

Farming Deep Iron and Other Rare Materials

One of the major ingredients for the crafting of the Frigate is Deep Iron. Possible in quantity of 10 units, it is one material that must be acquired for the process. There are two good ways to do that. First, is buying from Blackwood for 1,000 guild marks per unit, with a limit of 10 units per week. The second method is by defeating the Megafort Wolvenhol in the Wolve’s Hollow, which provides five units of Deep Iron as a reward upon successful completion. Both methods are viable, but depending on resources and player level, one may be more convenient than the other.

Aside from Deep Iron, several other crafting materials are necessary. These include:

  • Magnetite Ingots
  • Planetary Gearset
  • Worm Drives
  • Precision Drilling Bits
  • Torsion Springs

Additionally, players must acquire two upgraded Orca pieces and two upgraded Gannet pieces, which can be refined at the Refinery using specific materials.

To upgrade the Gannet piece, players will need:

  • 5× Gannet’s Saltpeter
  • Rubber
  • Purified Saltpeter
  • Lacquer

For the Orca piece, the upgrade requires:

  • Planetary Gearset
  • Torsion Spring
  • Wood Pitch

Gathering Helm Materials and Additional Resources

Another important requirement comes from the Helm. To fully craft the Frigate, the players need to acquire materials such as Gannet Saltpeter and Orca’s Mechanisms. These materials can be earned through events with Elite Warships like Fangs of the Fara and Treacherous Turn, especially in World Tier 2. These events tend to run fairly quickly and last about four to five minutes and will reward precious drop loot in treasure chests. Although Megafort Oosten can drop these materials as well, its drop rate is notably lower.

Another option is to head to the Black Market where the player can purchase up to five items of each type per week for 750 Pieces of Eight each. If the player has yet to reach level 45 in Smuggler Pass, the quickest method of leveling is by attending Elite Warship events or Call-for-Help events. These encounters usually draw other players in, making it more straightforward to succeed even if you go solo.

Crafting the Eclipse and Combat Considerations

After assembling all requisite ingredients, the players can go over to the Shipwright to get this bad boy crafted: L’Éclipse, an enormous Frigate Large. With 100,000 hull health and 80,000 of cargo weight capacity, this colossal ship surely has its awesome perks. The special perks set aside for this ship are called Grit: it increases the number of gun ports on the ship with the side effect that the ship will take 30-percent extra damage when hit on the weak points. It has a decent trim speed of 16 knots.

As for combat, the Frigate starts out at level 1 and may feel underwhelming if you just look at numbers. Paradoxically, despite having the enormous pool of HP, this beast can deal out damage almost as fast as you can keep repairing yourself, and you will be left noticing your repair kits running out faster than your gunpowder. Long Gun restrictions also mean angles make positioning equally important in a battle, and then comes the grind: Grinding out 30 Deep Irons simply to get the Frigate to level 2 means you better be prepared.

Elite Warships are a solid source of valuable loot needed for the Frigate, such as Zamzama Ill’s, Scurlock’s Lone Nine, and Divine Thunder, along with other Helm materials. Building and upgrading the Frigate takes time, planning, and resource farming, but it becomes a powerful addition to any fleet once completed.
