How to Get Firecell Stone in Monster Hunter Wilds

The blistering sands and unstable worlds of Monster Hunter Wilds are full of riches, but few are as essential to high-rank crafting as the elusive Firecell Stone. This important ore, emitting heat and promise, is the door to opening mighty equipment and powering up your hunter’s arsenal. Whether you’re a grizzled veteran or a new recruit, knowing how to effectively gather Firecell Stones is key to your success in the Oilwell Basin. This guide will shed light on the different ways, ranging from fighting powerful Gravios to carefully mining lucrative outcrops and fulfilling necessary quests, so you’ll be adequately prepared to harvest this blazing resource.

How to Get Firecell Stone

The Firecell Stone is a type of ore in Monster Hunter Wilds used for crafting various items. Luckily, it’s not too hard to find once you know where to look, specifically in the Oilwell Basin biome. You can get Firecell Stones by mining, completing quests and objectives, and carving certain monsters.

Defeating Gravios

Gravios can be found roaming the Oilwell Basin and the Ruins of Wyveria. Once you reach HR 8 and step into high-rank hunts, you’ll start encountering this monster either in the wild or through various quests, such as investigations and optional quests. If you’re hunting for a Firecell Stone, your best bet is to focus on breaking specific parts of Gravios. Target its back, left leg, and right leg — each has a 40% chance of dropping the stone.

Mining Outcrop

You can also get a Firecell Stone through mining, just like other ores in the game. However, it’s only found in high-rank mining outcrops within the Oilwell Basin, you won’t find it anywhere else. To mine, simply interact with an outcrop, and you’ll receive three random items from that location’s loot pool.

Once you’ve gathered the items, the outcrop will go on a 15-minute cooldown before you can mine it again. Luckily, these outcrops are often clustered along the edges of certain zones, making farming easier. A great spot to check is Zone 13 in the Oilwell Basin, where you can find four outcrops almost lined up in a row. Even better, there’s a potential pop-up camp nearby, so you can fast travel straight to the area and get back to mining quickly.

Completing Quests

There’s also a side quest that rewards you with a Firecell Stone. Look for the quest “Succulent Scraps” given by Dogard, an NPC found at the base camp in the Oilwell Basin. To complete it, you’ll need to hunt a Gravios in a newly unlocked optional quest.

Once you succeed and report back to Dogard, he’ll thank you and reward you with one Firecell Stone. While you can only claim the side quest reward once, the optional Gravios quest remains replayable — giving you more chances to farm for additional stones.
