How to Find UV Bar in Dying Light: The Beast

When it comes to surviving the nights in Dying Light: The Beast, it can be absolutely brutal with constant attacks from Virals and Volatiles hunting you down. That’s where UV Bars come into play, which is a very powerful consumable that gives you the upper hand when things start to get out of hand. In this guide, we will take you through everything you need to know regarding UV Bars, including the functions, where to find them, and possibly how to farm them efficiently to help you survive longer.

What are UV Bars?

Useful consumables that you will find in Dying Light: The Beast are UV Bars. They are considered throwable items: however, unlike regular throwables that are thrown upon an adversary, these ones lighten an area that repels Biters and the Virals for a short period. When a zombie grabs you, the bars also act as a direct burn, saving you during night missions.

Where to Look for UV Bars

The best place to track them down is the Island Tunnel Convoy in the Asylum Island region. This spot is never empty—you’ll usually run into either infected or human enemies guarding the area. Make sure to clear it out first.

Once the area is safe, head inside the tunnel. Look for a blue door blocked by a wooden crate. Break the crate, then lockpick the door. Inside you’ll find a small maintenance room, but be careful—a Boomer lurks there and explodes on sight. Back away and use a throwing knife (or any ranged tool) to trigger it safely. After it’s gone, check the locker on your left to grab a UV Bar.

How to Farm UV Bars

There’s a safe zone just above the tunnel that makes farming easy. After grabbing the UV Bar, climb up to the safe zone, sleep until morning, and the loot inside the tunnel will refresh. Simply repeat the cycle to build up a supply.

Extra Notes

  • UV Bars can’t be crafted, so farming this spot is the only way to stock up.
  • Occasionally, the tunnel may spawn a tougher enemy. If you’re not well-equipped, it’s usually better to reset the area instead of burning through your resources.
