These maps don’t give you an exact spot, so you’ll need to prepare the right tools, read the clues carefully, and search the area to uncover your reward. All Treasure Maps and Treasure Locations
As you explore the world, you may come across different types of treasure maps. Each map leads to unique treasures, and as the quality of the map increases, so does the reward. However, to actually claim the treasure, you need an excavation kit that matches the quality of the map.
Crafting Usable Treasure Maps
Some treasure maps you find will be faded and unusable at first. To make them usable, you need to craft them. You’ll need the faded map itself, paper and the red ink.
To create the red ink, head to an Alchemy Station. You can craft Ruby Powder there, which is then combined with water to make the ink. Paper and water can be easily purchased from any vendor in town. Once you have all the ingredients, you can craft your treasure map and get ready to use it.
Crafting the Right Excavation Kit
To open a treasure chest, your excavation kit must match the quality of the treasure map. For example, a purple-quality map requires a purple-quality excavation kit. You’ll craft these kits at an Arcane Engineering Station, using materials such as Ash Timber and other ingredients of the appropriate quality. You can gather these materials yourself or purchase them from the marketplace.
Using the Treasure Map
Once your map and excavation kit are ready, using the map adds the treasure hunt as a quest in your journal. Open your world map, and you’ll see multiple overlapping circles. The treasure is located somewhere within the area where these circles overlap.
The higher the map’s quality, the more circles you’ll see, making the treasure a bit trickier to locate. You’ll need to travel across the map until you reach the general area.
Spotting and Claiming the Treasure
Look for a patch on the ground; it will look slightly out of place. Interact with it, and the treasure chest will appear. Then, use your matching-quality excavation kit to open the chest and claim the treasure.
Using Ash’s Codex
