The Horn of Vastiri is a key artifact in the Trail of Corruption Pt. 2 quest in Path of Exile 2. It serves to dispel the powerful sandstorm blocking the caravan’s path, allowing progression into more perilous territories. Obtaining and using the Horn marks a significant milestone, leading to even greater dangers and challenges.
Acquiring this artifact is no easy feat, and once you have it, figuring out how to use it can be unclear. Here’s a guide to help you complete these objectives.
How Your Search for the Horn of Vastiri Begins in Path of Exile 2
During the Trail of Corruption Pt. 2 quest in Act 2, you’ll need to acquire the Horn of Vastiri in “A Crown of Stone” quest. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can get there:
- To unlock the second part of The Trail of Corruption, complete the Earning Passage quest, speak to Zarka, and enter the Ardura Caravan.
- In the Ardura Caravan, begin by speaking with The Hooded One, followed by Sekhema Asala. Use the Desert Map on her table to travel to Mawdun Quarry. Fight your way through enemies there to reach Mawdun Mine.
- Rudja is located in the Munitions Bunker section of Mawdun Mine. To defeat her, evade her melee strikes, flame attacks, and bombs. Afterward, free Risu, the Faridun Defector, from her cage and speak with her.
- Head back to the Ardura Caravan and use the Desert Map to travel to Halani Gates. Once the caravan stops, speak with Sekhema Asala near the entrance. Then, return inside the caravan to have another conversation with Risu.
- Use the Desert Map once more to travel to Traitor’s Passage. Climb through the passage to locate the exit leading back to Halani Gates.
Note: Optional Boss Encounter: Balbala, The Traitor. Entering the Ancient Seal area triggers a boss fight with Balbala, the Traitor. Begin the battle by burning the three seals. Defeating Balbala unlocks the optional quest, Ascent to Power.
- When you arrive at Halani Gates, defeat a wave of enemies and summon Asala, who will accompany you through this section.
- Defeat Jamanra, the Risen King, by evading his melee strikes and elemental attacks while managing the summoned mobs. The fight ends when he reaches 30% HP and retreats.
- After initially defeating Jamanra, head up the stairs and move near the edge of the sandstorm. Asala will then instruct you to return to the Caravan and speak with Zarka.
- Next, speak with Asala again. To get The Horn of Vastiri and progress, you must finish the following quests:
- The City of Seven Waters
- A Theft of Ivory
- A Crown of Stone
How to Get the Horn of Vastiri in Path of Exile 2

The three given quests can be completed in any order. The horn can be obtained in “A Crown of Stone” where you’ll have to defeat the formidable boss Zalmarath in the Titan Grotto and recover the Flame Ruby. Once you bring the ruby to Zarka, she will reward you with the Horn of Vastiri. After completing this task, you’ll be able to finish the Trail of Corruption.
After receiving the horn from Zarka, you’ll be instructed to use it to dispel the magical sandstorm created by Jamanra, the Risen King. Since you’ve already cleared Jamanra’s fortifications and advanced the Ardura Caravan to the edge of the storm, there’s no need to return unless you’re looking to farm more level six skill gems.
Instead, use the Desert Map to travel to the Halani Gates. Once there, head to the front of the Caravan, where the slaves are pulling it, and you’ll receive a quest prompt. Click on it, and your character will use the Horn of the Vastiri to dispel the sandstorm, clearing the path for the Caravan to proceed to a new area, Deshar, where greater and more deadly threats await you and your allies.
Note: Keep in mind that, as of this article, some players have reported issues with this quest and the item involved being bugged. One suggested solution is to destroy the Horn and ask Zarka to create a new one, which may help resolve the issue, though it’s not guaranteed. Since the game is still in early access, bugs are to be expected, so be sure to report them to the developers through Steam or the forums to help them address the problem quickly.
Completing the Trail of Corruption Pt. 2 After Clearing the Sandstorm in Path of Exile 2
After clearing the Sandstorm, you’ll face an optional boss fight against the Watchful Twins, here’s how you can proceed:
- Encountering The Watchful Twins can be challenging because each of them has two random monster modifiers. However, the fight becomes more manageable if you lure them out one at a time.
- Next, venture through the Path of Mourning and enter the Spires of Deshar. Head to The Defiled Spire to confront Jamanra once more, after which he will summon Tor Gul, The Defiler, to battle you.
- After defeating Tor Gul, return to the Caravan and speak with Asala. Then, use the Desert Map to travel to the Dreadnought and make your way to Jamanra, with Asala by your side.
- Head to the Faridun Throne area of the Dreadnought to defeat Jamanra, The Abomination. Afterward, speak with Asala, then return to the Caravan. To complete the quest, talk to The Hooded One and then return to Asala.
And that is how you complete the Trail of Corruption Pt. 2 quest in Path of Exile 2 and use the Horn of Vastiri to clear the sandstorm for the Caravan to proceed through Deshar.
