Emerald Direwolf Moveset in Octopath Traveler 0

The Emerald Direwolf in Octopath Traveler 0 is a tough enemy that is ready to lunge at your party the moment you encounter it. It has 10 shields, and it’s weak to swords and bows.
Once the battle begins, the Direwolf uses a mix of fast and hard-hitting attacks. Its basic Bite hits a single character for around 240 or more damage, and it uses Divine Speed to push itself forward in the turn order for the next three turns, letting it attack much faster. It can also intimidate the whole party, lowering everyone’s physical attack and making your damage noticeably weaker.
When it uses Vicious Charge, it strikes one character two or three times in a row for about 75+ damage each hit. But its most dangerous move is Maiming Bite, a brutal attack that hits the entire team and can deal anywhere from 150 to over 220 damage to everyone.
How to defeat the Emerald Direwolf

When you’re fighting the Emerald Direwolf, Phenn’s Repeated Shot is the best support skill that you can use. This skill takes off two shield points at once, letting you break the Direwolf’s shield faster and hit much harder afterwards. The boss will sometimes “brace” itself for a big attack, which you can easily spot when a purple aura appears around it. The moment you see that glow, fire off Repeated Shot again to interrupt the attack and stun the Direwolf for a few turns. This gives your party a perfect time to deal extra damage. Since the Direwolf can hit very fast and really hard, you’ll want to keep an eye on everyone’s health. Whenever someone drops below half HP, let Stia step in with First Aid to keep the party safe and standing.
