How to Defeat Jackenstein in Deltarune

Have you been struggling with Jackenstein in Deltarune Chapter 4? Do not panic-this guide will explore exactly how to defeat this creepy boss fight together with defenses and perfectly timed use of the “Unleash” skill so you can survive the chase and have a shot at beating Jackenstein! Now, let’s get going!

How to Defeat Jackenstein

If you’ve made it to Chapter 4 of Deltarune and suddenly run into a strange, spooky enemy named Jackenstein—don’t panic. This isn’t your typical boss fight where brute force wins the day. In true Toby Fox fashion, things are a bit… unconventional.

Defense Is Your Best Weapon

Forget everything you’ve heard about charging headfirst into combat. The secret to Jackenstein is to play it safe. You’ll need to continue choosing the “Defend” command on your turns. Each time you defend, you’ll be transported to a mini-maze—a dark, 2D place where your objective is to find an exit.

Along the way, be careful to see a glowing key that you must seek out in order to progress. In the process of navigating, pick up the small glowing dots to fill your TP (Tension Points). It is similar to Pac-Man, but creepy.

The Pumpkin Chase

Just when you think you’ve got the hang of the maze, the game throws another curveball—a menacing pumpkin begins chasing you. This adds a layer of pressure and forces you to keep your cool while trying to boost your TP and find your way out.

How to Strike Back

“Unleash” becomes available in your “Act” menu when the TP meter displays at least 60%. This is how you can damage Jackenstein: rather than a traditional attack, the move turns the tables-he becomes the one chased.

However, one round of Unleash just won’t cut it; Open options are endless: defend, survive the maze, collect TP, and then Unleash again. If you grind through it, he’ll eventually be worn down.

Final Tip

Jackenstein may look intimidating, but once you figure out the rhythm of the fight, it becomes more about patience and timing than brute strength. Stay calm, use your TP wisely, and you’ll come out on top.
