How to Change Seasons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Season dynamic system is the game’s central entity that establishes game world, cycles of enemies, exploration, and resources in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. As much as the game progresses automatically based on the change of seasons within the duration, they can manually be swapped for specific situations. You may need to recycle patrol patrols, refill smuggled commodities, or eradicate wanted levels whichever; being able to manage the cycle of the seasons can grant you a strategic advantage. This is how to manually change the seasons and what to watch out for while doing so.

    How to Change Seasons

In order to manually change the season in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, go to the world map and press down on the right D-pad. But, there is a catch, you can only do it when the tiny compass in the top right hand corner is half way full or more. You’ll know it’s ready when you notice little white circles near the south and north points. If a season change hasn’t happened recently, holding right for a second or two will switch the season.

Keep in mind that once the compass reaches the north or south position, the season will change automatically the next time you fast travel or exit a cutscene. This makes the manual season change a bit unnecessary, unless you never fast travel. As for filling up the compass, it happens on its own over time. A full season lasts about two hours, with a mid-season transition occurring roughly every hour.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, each season has two phases, so triggering a season change animation doesn’t always mean a completely new season. If the compass is only halfway full, the animation simply marks the season’s midpoint. However, you’ll still get all the benefits of a full season change, scouts will reset, smuggled goods will return to the hideout, and both Naoe and Yasuke’s wanted levels will be cleared.
