How to Capture an Ember Rufflizard in Monster Hunter Wilds
To find Ember Rufflizards, head to the Oilwell Basin. These creatures prefer areas near lava, so focus on the lower sections where molten rock flows. A great place to start is Area 15. While there aren’t any pop-up camps nearby, you can set a lava vent as your waypoint. Once there, spotting them is easy—their neon green color contrasts sharply against the red lava.
Once you’ve found an Ember Rufflizard, it’s time to capture it. Equip your Capture Net from either the item bar or the Essential Items radial menu. Using the new rectangle reticle, approach slowly until it turns yellow-orange, then fire. Just be sure to press L2/LT instead of the usual square/X.
After completing the quest, you can take on “Samin’s Research Report (Cont.),” which involves tracking down a Rime Beetle.
