Wormzilla is the first big boss you’ll fight in Revenge of the Savage Planet. You’ll find this giant, sand monster on the second planet, Xephyr. The battle starts off simple but gets difficult as you go. You’ll face Wormzilla in three different phases, each with new challenges. This guide will walk you through each phase step by step, so that you know how to beat them.
How to Beat Wormzilla
Wormzilla is the first boss you’ll face in the game, and you’ll encounter them on the second planet, Xephyr. This massive sand-burrowing creature will catch you off guard by popping out of the ground unexpectedly. You’ll actually fight Wormzilla twice throughout your journey, with the first encounter being pretty straightforward. That initial battle only has one phase.
Phase 1
Before you can get to the Mag Fork container deep in the depths, you’ll need to upgrade your Water Hose with the Goo Ingestor. When you enter Wormzilla’s arena, their fire breath now hits both sideways and upward, so always start moving to avoid being hit. Use the Ferro Goo tank to make the connection, and refill from the dispensers nearby if you run low. Just be careful Wormzilla can burrow and pop out under you, which hurts, and they’ll also try to blast you with fire.
Look around the room for plants that hold Ferrous Goo and keep an eye out for electric mushrooms. Your goal here is to draw a path of Ferrous Goo from a mushroom toward Wormzilla. If they step into the goo trail, they’ll get stunned instantly, losing a lot of health. Use healing flowers around the arena if you take damage. Wormzilla will drop a crate containing the Magnetic Fork after the first phase.
Phase 2
After defeating the last phase of Wormzilla, you’ll finally be able to get the Mag Fork. But Wormzilla will pop back up and swallows you and the Mag Fork again.
Now inside Wormzilla’s stomach, it’s time to put the Mag Fork to use. Once inside, use the Mag Fork to grab the metal crystal in Wormzilla’s mouth and toss it at his weak points. You’ll need to land three solid hits. Do that, and Wormzilla will finally spit you out.
Phase 3
Use your Mag Fork here. Scattered around the arena are the same metallic crystal pillars. Use the Mag Fork to grab these and throw them at Wormzilla. The key is to wait until they open their mouth to roar then aim for the weak points. It usually takes about three or four solid hits to bring them down. If you’re struggling to land a shot, you can still lure Wormzilla into a trail of electrified Ferrous Goo to stun them briefly and get some time.
