Qianye the Witch is one of the first major challenges you will face in Chapter 1 of Where Winds Meet, with multiple phases and increasingly intense action. This encounter will test your ability to manage healing, avoiding deadly attacks, and changing your strategy based on her shifting forms. Below are tips on how to unlock the encounter, stay alive through each phase, and ultimately collect your rewards.
How to Unlock the Fight with Qianye
As you follow the Chapter 1 questline you will come to this fight naturally. Continue the quest “For Whom Does He Return” until the game tells you to complete the Blissful Retreat campaign. The quest ends with Qianye herself and completing it will lead you to the primary fight for the main battle. When she falls, her Campaign version becomes available on the world map.
Recommended Weapons and Tactics

Phase 1
If you’re looking for a reliable, low-stress run, take the Panacea Fan. Its self-healing makes you difficult to kill, even when the fight enters the health-draining segments. You don’t need to rush damage; just be patient, wait for her to make an opening, and break down her Qi so you can Execute. It is a slower process than a DPS build, but much more forgiving.
Meanwhile, if you like to pressure the boss, then you will find the Infernal Blades very comfortable in her white-form state. The fast attack speed of the Blades will let you keep recovering HP as you trade, meaning you can have sustained damage and sustained healing from simply staying on the offensive.
Phase 2
In the second phase, she also has her most dangerous attack: a huge wave attack that can just end your experience, straight up. To signal this attack, she glows yellow, and also brings her scythe behind her. At that point, you want to stop your offense and get ready to dodge toward her and not away from her.
Sliding forward decreases the amount of time spent in the danger zone and makes the dodge more reliably. If you time it perfectly, you will be allowed to trigger the slow-motion window, and you can slide behind her before she continues the sequence.
Phase 3
Once her second-phase health hits roughly three-quarters, Qianye trades places with her reflection and enters a white-form variant. From this moment on, your HP steadily drains. Keeping her pressure off you isn’t enough—you must actively attack and deflect to recover lost health.
Any healing option you have becomes valuable here, and if you’re using the Panacea Fan, you’ll counteract the decay much more comfortably.
