After freeing Bellhart from its silken prison, you’ll find Frey’s shop looking disappointingly bare. This is where the quest The Missing Courier comes in, sending you westward in search of Tipp, the lost messenger responsible for restocking the shelves. Completing this task not only expands Frey’s inventory with essential upgrades and supplies but also opens the door to later story connections tied to Tipp’s return.
Why You’ll Find the Shop Half-Empty
Once Bellhart is freed, Frey’s shop is almost empty, with only two items available for purchase: the Memory Locket, which increases your slot capacity, and the Rosary Necklace, which allows you to safely store some Rosary. Beyond that, the shelves remain bare until the supply line is restored. Frey admits the shortage isn’t just due to bad luck, the courier never arrived, and he even ended up dipping into part of his own stock. To expand the shop’s inventory, you’ll need to track down the missing courier.
Tracking Down the Courier
To get started, accept the Wish “The Missing Courier” from the board near Bellhart. Frey points you toward Shellwood, so head west from town and follow the lower paths. From there, the trail leads to the bench in west Shellwood.
Depending on whether the gate is unlocked, you may need to approach through the Mosslands or use a Simple Key purchased from Pebb in Bone Bottom. Once you’ve worked your way around, climb into the upper Mosslands and drop down a couple of ledges. Here you’ll find Tipp, the courier, under attack by two enemies. Clear them out, speak to him, and he’ll make his way back to Bellhart.
When Tipp returns, Frey’s store immediately improves its selection. You’ll then have access to more useful gear, including upgrades for Silk capacity, faster healing options (with trade-offs), and even a handy shard bundle for emergencies.
This quest also ties into a later storyline, but it won’t show up unless you talk to Tipp again after he settles in Bellhart. Look for him above the shop, on the second floor of town.
