The Heroic Spirit quest in Titan Quest 2 is a challenging early side mission set in the treacherous Flooded Farmlands. Overview of the Quest & How to Start
One of the tougher early side quests in Titan Quest 2, Heroic Spirit appears in the threat-filled Flooded Farmlands. It centers on finding Kaenas, a legendary warrior who disappeared after the flood and the Icthian assault on Pyrgos. This isn’t just a rescue mission, completing it also rewards you with a powerful Legendary Sword, making it well worth the effort.
To start, head over to Pyrgos Village, and look to the northwestern corner, near the elevator exit. There you’ll spot Zita, a concerned NPC who tells you about Kaenas—he once protected her and others during the Icthian invasion. She’ll ask you to seek him out and, if possible, help him return.
Tracking Kaenas
Your next move is to venture north, through the Flooded Farmlands, pass The Enclave, and push toward the western coast. Your goal is to find a place called Secluded Beach, deep within Icthian-infested swamplands.
When you arrive at Secluded Beach, you’ll discover Kaenas is now a ghost, locked in battle against numerous Icthian foes. You’ll have to survive four waves of these enemies to continue.
Key details:
- Dying resets the current wave you’re on.
- The final wave features a boss-level Icthian Magus with Plague-based poison attacks.
- Bring potions that offer Purification to cleanse the effects of Plague.
Recovering the Sword
After the fight, Kaenas will reveal his sword was stolen. He asks you to retrieve it so his spirit can finally be at peace. To locate it, head up the cliffs just north of his location and eliminate the Icthians there. One of them holds the weapon.
If you’re also tackling the Headhunt quest, you’ll run into one of the Icthian Commanders in the same area.
Completion Rewards
Once you recover the sword, bring it back to Kaenas. He’ll thank you—and let you keep the weapon. It’s a Legendary blade, comparable in quality to iconic gear from previous Titan Quest entries. Along with the sword, you’ll also receive:

- 1 Attribute Point
After that, you can return to Zita in Pyrgos and let her know about Kaenas’ fate—how he stood his ground and passed on his legacy through you.
