    Understanding Relics: Active vs Passive

Relics in this game comes in two forms: Active and Passive, each enhancing combat and survival strategies in its own way.

Active Relics perform almost identically to weapon Glyphs; the key difference is they do not utilize Lymbic Energy. Instead, they depend on cooldowns, similar to your Drone abilities. They are equipped via the weapon’s ability menu, and their effects are temporary, making timing and strategy crucial.

Unlike Active Relics, Passive Relics don’t need to be activated. Think of them like wearable gear, passive Relics’ benefits are always on and offer steady advantages. They enable you to try out distinct builds that do not focus entirely on defence or the Lymbic Sphere of your weapon.

In total, the game contains 29 Relics: 14 Active and 15 Passive. Their effects range from restoring Health or Lymbic Energy, boosting experience gains, granting invincibility, to instantly vanquishing specific enemies.

Here’s a list of all 14 Active Relics and their effects, stats, & locations:

    How to Find Relics

Relics are primarily obtained through three methods:

    1. Vaults of Forbidden Knowledge: Some Relics are hidden in these secret vaults.
    1. Gildas Rewards: Completing a Good Deed or closing a Timeloop may reward a Relic.
    1. Mystery Completions: Certain mysteries in the game yield Relics as prizes.

Note: Some story-specific Relics, like Aster’s Band of Domination and Mark of the Betrayed, are found directly in the main storyline.

    Must-Have Relics

Some relics consistently outperform others, making them essential in most setups:

    Top Active Relics

    • Aster’s Band of Domination: Stuns multiple enemies at once, excellent for crowd control.
    • Heart of the Griffon: Instantly restores all resources, keeping you battle-ready.

    Top Passive Relics

Other situational picks include Entropic Enigma for faster weapon farming or Omen of Oblivion for combo-focused builds.
