Gaping Jaw Boss Fight Tips and Tricks – Nightreign

Adel, the Baron of Night, or Gaping Jaw, is a difficult boss to defeat. This guide will tell you how to fight him better. We will discuss how to use poison to weaken him, how to get your weapons upgraded, and how to dodge his attacks at the right time. Follow these easy steps, and you will have an easier time defeating Adel and earning great rewards.

How to Beat Gaping Jaw

If you are fighting Adel, the Baron of Night, poison is a wonderful method of weakening him. Pounding him with poison will cause him to vomit and stumble for a little while; that is your opportunity to blast him hard and rack up some additional hits. Therefore, stock up on Poison Pots and Poison Grease before fighting Adel.

If you want a balanced fight, try to fight Adel at Level 12. Start by throwing the Poison Pots to start the poison effect, and then apply Poison Grease to your weapon to deal damage over time.

Gaping Jaw Boss Required Weapons

To maximize the poison damage, upgrade your weapon:

  • Purchase a Smithing Stone from the Merchant and upgrade your weapon to Common at the Smithing Station.
  • Go into a nearby tunnel, defeat the mini-boss, and pick up another Smithing Stone. Upgrade your weapon to Rare by using it.

A more powerful weapon is more effective damage and more reliable poison effects on Adel.

Gaping Jaw Boss Attacks

Once Adel’s health is below 50%, it begins employing massive electric area attacks. When this occurs, back away and maintain distance to remain safe.

  • When you play a ranged character like Ironeye or Recluse, this is your moment of advantage: shoot from afar, and avoid the sparks.
  • Adel has a dangerous grab attack that bites you, deals heavy damage, and heals itself. It can make the battle longer quite a bit. You can counter this move with your Ultimate Arts, so hold off on it until now.
  • When Adel roars, it targets one player. It will begin lunging and biting continually. If you are targeted, simply stay focused on dodging and remaining alive until it changes focus. Your teammates, meanwhile, should attack its back when Adel is occupied.
  • You will not be able to battle Adel immediately. To make this boss appear, you will have to defeat Gladius in an Expedition first. After that, on Day 3, Adel will appear as a Nightlord boss.

Rewards

When you kill Adel, the Baron of Night, you will gain a special relic named Night of the Baron. It’s a blue relic that provides you with some very good bonuses during combat. It increases your critical hits. Each critical hit that you get, your Art gauge charges a little faster. Critical hits also recover your stamina faster. It’s a very strong reward that can definitely enhance your performance in the next battles.
