To begin this quest, visit Blacksmith Radovan in Tachov and ask him for work. He will teach you his craft, and your first task will be to forge a sword. Once you complete it, Radovan will mention a missing cart carrying wedding supplies and request your help in investigating the matter. In addition to the cart and its cargo, two labourers, Ventza and Franzi, are also missing.
Your next destination is Semine which is located southwest of Troskowitz. If you don’t have a horse yet, don’t worry—it won’t take too long on foot. Upon entering the town through the gate, a cutscene will trigger. Tensions will rise, leading to a fight with Jurko. Defeat him to proceed.
Just before you land the final blow, Captain Gnarly will intervene and stop the fight. Afterward, speak with Captain Gnarly and Lord Semine about the missing cart. They will then ask you to accompany them on a ride the following morning.
Note: Captain Gnarly will recommend buying a horse from Semine’s stable, which offers options at a budget-friendly price. You can also find your lost horse, Pebbles, available for purchase there.
Traveling With Captain Gnarly and Lord Semine in KCD2
Purchase a horse and wait until the next morning to begin the investigation. If you fail to arrive on time, Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly will start the investigation without you. When morning comes, find them seated in Semine’s courtyard and interact with them to set off. If you don’t have a horse, you can follow them on foot.
Note: If you’re short on money, you can sell items or use your blacksmithing skills to craft and sell more. If you can’t obtain the horse for free, you’ll need to pay 120 Groschen.
After travelling some distance, the group will take a break, during which you’ll engage in a friendly duel with Lord Semine. When speaking with Captain Gnarly, choose the dialogue option “Alright. What will you give me?” to receive Gnarly’s club as a weapon.
The outcome of the battle doesn’t affect your progress, so you can continue the story regardless. However, if you win, you’ll receive Gnarly’s shield as a reward. After the duel, follow Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly to the next location. Once you reach Troskowitz, interact with them to proceed with the next objective.
Finding Radovan’s Missing Cart in KCD2
Head to the marked location on the map and speak with Bailiff Thrush. Ask him about Radovan’s missing cart to learn its intended destination. You can also inquire about the two missing labourers.
Once you’ve gathered the information, return to Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly to share the details. Next, the three of you will travel to another location and after covering some distance, you’ll stop near the cemetery to investigate. Search for clues related to the cart. Follow the road straight ahead, where you’ll find a sack of charcoal on the ground. Examine it, then inform Captain Gnarly and Lord Semine about it.
Next, take the left-side road leading northeast. As you enter the woods, a cutscene will trigger. Following this, you’ll need to investigate the crossroads near Apollonia. To locate the cart, turn around, head straight, and look to your right for another sack of charcoal. Follow the trail, and just ahead, you’ll find the cart. After you’ve inspected the cart, Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly will arrive at the location to investigate what happened to the cargo, from there continue on foot for a short distance to track down the bandits.
Tracking Down the Bandits
As you walk on foot, you’ll soon hear voices nearby. Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly will ask you to locate the source of it for which you’ll have to select the prompt “I’ll get on it.”
Move forward quietly and veer left to spot three bandits conversing. Return to Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly to report your findings, then select the following dialogue options:
- “Of course.”
- “We’ll just go straight at them, no?”
Engage in battle alongside Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly to defeat the three bandits. The fight is fairly easy, as the enemies are not very strong. Afterward, during your conversation with Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly, a cutscene will reveal more bandits tormenting Ventza.
You and your allies must then take on four more bandits. Ensure you have a sturdy shield and proper armour before engaging in battle. These bandits are armed, and their attacks can be lethal if you’re not well-prepared.
Note: The bandits will be well-equipped, so be sure to loot them for useful gear. You can also sell the items to earn some extra money.
Finding Ventza
After defeating the bandits, speak with Captain Gnarly, who will inform you that Ventza has fled into the rocks. Your task is to find and bring him back. Asking Captain Gnarly for directions won’t help, as he’ll place the blame on you for not keeping watch. Instead, simply select the option “I’ll go and find him.”
After speaking with Captain Gnarly, head south and follow the path up the hill. As you continue, you’ll come across a camp—turn left and climb further to find Ventza. Move forward by persuading him to surrender and return with you. Alternatively, you can engage him in a one-on-one battle and defeat him. Once finished, go back to Lord Semine and Captain Gnarly to report the outcome.
Speak with Lord Semine and select the prompt “I could use a ride” to travel to Troskowitz. Next, fast-travel to Tachov and inform Radovan about everything. As a reward, he will give you a Rusted Plate. This will officially conclude The Jaunt quest, but he will soon assign you another task. Your next quest, The Hermit, will be quite lengthy as well, but it will be the final one before attending the wedding.
