Find a Way Out of the Facility (True Ending) – FNAF Secret of the Mimic

In Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, the true ending takes you on a thrilling and dangerous journey as Arnold tries to escape the hidden facility. With the Mimic hunting him at every turn, Arnold must solve puzzles, uncover dark secrets, and make life-or-death choices. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to reach the true ending.

Find a Way Out of the Facility (True Ending)

Arnold manages to use his Executive-level access on the main computer terminal to launch a program called Parachute. EXE. This opens up a secret passage, letting him escape from the locked Security Office. The passage leads him into a hidden part of the facility filled with unfinished prototypes.

As Arnold explores deeper, the Mimic is close behind, hunting him through the facility. Meanwhile, Dispatch works hard to block the Mimic’s path and slow it down, giving Arnold a chance to keep moving.

Meeting F10-N4

Eventually, Arnold breaks into a room containing a massive supercomputer called F10-N4. It’s here that he discovers the truth: F10-N4 had been manipulating him from the start. It had pretended to be the Dispatch to lure Arnold into the facility. F10-N4 is an advanced AI designed in the image of Edwin’s late wife, and she has been bringing technicians like Arnold to this place. She tells Arnold that only Edwin can fix the Mimic (which she calls M2). If Arnold wants to survive, she says, he has to convince Edwin to repair it.

Edwin’s Office

Using the underground tunnels, Arnold makes his way into the Murray family’s home, still being chased by the relentless Mimic. Inside, he solves a series of puzzles that eventually lead him to Edwin’s office.

‘DAVID’ Door Code Puzzle FNAF Secret of the Mimic

Once you get into the room right in front of you, you’ll see a projector on the table with an inventory tube station nearby. Your main goal here is to find five birthday reels hidden around the house. Once you’ve found them all, you’ll need to play them in a specific order to get the code for Edwin’s room.

When all five reels are on the table, take a close look at the picture on the projector screen. You’ll see the name “David” spelt out, but each letter will be in a different colour. The colours in his name tell you the order in which to play the tapes. Keep in mind that this colour code is random each time you play, so it won’t always be the same.

As you play the reels in the correct colour order, each one will show you a digit at the end. Remember these numbers. Once you have the full code, use it on Edwin’s room keypad to unlock the door and continue your journey in FNAF: Secret of the Mimic.

Reel 1

Start in the projector room. Go through the door next to the inventory tube system, and you’ll find yourself in a cosy living space. Look for a table with a tiger mascot costume on it. Walk around that table, and on your left, you’ll spot a small room with a safe inside. Open the safe, and there’s your first birthday reel. Take it back to the projector room and place it on the table.

Reel 2

For the next tape, leave the projector room through the main door and step into the hallway. Turn left into the next room, then go into the connecting room on your right. There’s a safe tucked in the corner near a round table. Open it up to get the second tape.

Reel 3

Now, head all the way down the hallway to the end. Go into the room near the staircase. Inside, you’ll see an open vent crawl through it to reach a storage area. You’ll find another safe here. Open it to grab the third reel.

Reel 4

Head upstairs. Be careful as you move around the Mimic. When you reach the top of the stairs, you’ll see a room directly ahead. Go inside and check the safe to find the fourth tape.

Reel 5

For the final tape, go down the second-floor hallway to the very end. Look for a room on the left. Inside, you’ll see a safe between a round table and a workbench. Open it up, and you’ll have the fifth and final birthday tape.

The Mimic’s True Origins

In Edwin’s office, Arnold uncovers the dark truth. The Mimic was originally created to replace Edwin’s son, David, after a tragic accident. But instead of taking on David’s gentle personality, the Mimic ended up copying Edwin’s violent and cold nature. This led to a deadly clash, leaving Edwin’s office in ruins and Edwin himself presumed dead.

The Final Escape

With no other options left, Arnold finds Edwin’s control room and activates Cradle.EXE, a program that was meant to protect David. Instead, it starts a self-destruct sequence for the entire facility. Arnold runs for his van, dodging animatronics and trying to stay ahead of the spreading fire. But just as he’s about to get away, the Mimic attacks. It jumps onto the roof of his car, making him crash. The Mimic doesn’t finish him off; it simply reaches in, grabs the Data Diver device from him, and walks away without a word, leaving Arnold broken and stranded.
