In the Family Ties quest, you need to find a way to open the old Resistance Shack. After that you need to search the caves for signs of the Sarentu.
How to Start the Family Ties Quest
You will start the quest after your village is destroyed. Now, you need to investigate the field lab for the science of the Sarentu. Use your vision to find the clues in the lab. After that, Nor will tell you that she had heard someone inside the lab, but the door was locked.
Enter the Lab
You will find an RDA Electrical Panel at the edge of the lab. Sabotage the electrical panel with your knife to open the door. You need to crouch down to enter the room. Inside the room, you will find an injured RDA trooper. After the RDA trooper, Nor, tells you that she had heard the humans and they have gone inside the caves.
Enter the Cave
Fly towards the cave. Once you reach there, enter the cave. Now, you need to search the cave for signs of Sarentu. As you move further inside the cave, you will find that the path is blocked by the rib plant. Move backwards, and you will find a water body. Dive inside the water body and get inside the underground tunnels.
Resurface on the water and use the vine to climb up. Move forward, and you will reach the rib plant. Touch it to make your way. Move forward, and you will reach a cliff. Dive down into the water and climb up the cliff. In an open area, you will find some wild animals. Kill them and move forward towards the quest marker to find a way back to Nor.
You will find a big creature in the open area. Kill them and move forward. Avoid stepping on the bones as it can wake up the Thanator. Shoot at the pink plants to energize the branches so that the underground tunnel opens up. Move forward, and you will meet Nor inside.
