Expedition 33 – All Gestral Beach Challenges

Gestral Beach Challenges in Expedition 33 offer a variety of fun and skill-based mini-games scattered across the map. From parkour and volleyball to intense races and climbing trials, each beach tests your timing, reflexes, and patience. Completing these challenges rewards exclusive swimsuits and achievements, making them essential for any completionist. This guide will help you overcome these challenges easily!

Completing All Gestral Beach Challenges

Gestral Beach Challenge 1 (Parkour Challenge)

Location: You’ll come across the first Gestral Beach early in Act 1, shortly after gaining access to the Continent. Located in the northwest corner of the starting region, this beach introduces you to the concept of Gestral Beaches and the mini-games they offer.

How to Finish the Challenge: The first Gestral Game is a parkour challenge that might be a bit tough for newer players. After entering the beach area, talk to the Gestral character who will explain the objective. You’ll need to carefully walk across a wooden log that stretches into the ocean, then leap onto a series of spinning platforms.

The key to success is patience—taking your time will make the course much more manageable. Once you reach the end, speak with a small Gestral to claim your reward: Lune’s Swimsuit.

Gestral Beach Challenge 2 (Raft Volleyball)

Location: Once you begin Act 2, the second Gestral Beach becomes accessible. You’ll need to swim to a hidden beach area to participate in a volleyball mini-game.

How to Finish the Challenge: The second Gestral Game is Raft Volleyball, which comes with three difficulty levels. In this challenge, you’ll need to launch tiny Gestrals back at the Sakapatate who sends them your way. Timing is key—wait just a moment longer than you instinctively would before hitting the Gestrals to successfully return them.

Your objective is to strike the Sakapatate’s raft with returned Gestrals a certain number of times, as shown by the glowing green and red lights on their side. Keep an eye out for flaming Gestrals—they’re worth two points and can help you reach the target faster. Beating the game on normal difficulty unlocks Lune’s Swimsuit II, while defeating the toughest version earns you Sciel’s Swimsuit II.

At first, winning the volleyball game can feel a bit frustrating if your timing is off. A helpful tip is to remain near the center of the raft rather than running back and forth—the range of your attack is wide enough to hit incoming Gestrals without much movement. Since each difficulty level offers a unique reward, including swimsuits, you’ll need to complete both the normal and hardest modes to earn the achievement and collect all the rewards.

Gestral Beach Challenge 3 (Ascending the Tower)

Location: This Gestral Beach is located on an island in a lake or sea east of Monoco’s Station. The challenge here involves climbing a towering structure made of various random in-game objects.

How to Finish the Challenge: When you reach the ascension tower, your objective is to climb all the way to the top to earn the reward. While it may seem straightforward at first glance, it’s surprisingly easy to slip and fall. You’ll need precise timing and a good grasp of how to jump and latch onto ledges. If you do fall, there’s a chance you can grab a ledge mid-fall to save yourself—otherwise, you’ll tumble all the way down and have to begin again from the bottom.

Gestral Beach Challenge 4 (Climbing the Wall)

Location: Situated in an enclosed water body southeast of Sirene, this Gestral Beach features a climbing mini-game. You must carefully scale a wall using handholds to reach the top.

How to Finish the Challenge: The following Gestral Game is the Climbing Wall, where you’ll need to scale your way up using handholds while avoiding flaming orbs dropping from above. It can be a bit challenging, but the key is to move side to side and watch carefully for when the orbs pass over the ledge.

Patience is your best strategy here—wait for a gap in the falling orbs before climbing under that section. Rushing through multiple handholds at once will likely get you hit, so it’s better to take your time. Reaching the top of the wall successfully will earn you Maelle’s Swimsuit.

Gestral Beach Challenge 5 (The Race)

Location: Also found southeast of Sirene and close to the fourth beach, the final Gestral Beach presents a timed race. Completing this event unlocks different rewards.

How to Finish the Challenge: The final Gestral Game is a timed foot race that also involves a bit of climbing. Your performance determines your reward, with different prizes for Bronze, Silver, and Gold rankings based on your completion time. As you climb the platforms, it’s important to time your jumps precisely and adjust your camera angle to line up the next jump smoothly. Here are the time requirements for each tier: Bronze – 45 seconds, Silver – 41 seconds, Gold – 38 seconds

Earning a Gold rank rewards you with the Verso II swimsuit. All three ranks also grant upgrade tints and Chroma. Achieving Gold not only unlocks the “Gestral Games” trophy or achievement but also brings you close to collecting nearly all swimsuits in the game—except for two that are obtained through relationship quests.
