Start by leaving Monoco’s Station and head east past the Carousel until you reach the entrance to Frozen Hearts. Once inside, you’ll find a rest flag stick to the left path from there and enter a nearby cave. Climb up using the rope inside, and you’ll arrive at the Glacial Falls rest flag. From here, either fight or sneak past two fire enemies to reach another rope that leads upward.
At the top, you’ll encounter two Fire Danseuse enemies get past them and use the grappling point to cross over. Keep climbing up the path until you reach a cliffside with a station entrance. Inside the station, go beyond the Iced Heart rest flag and use the wrecked train to climb up. That’s where you’ll find Gargant. Beat him, and you’ll earn the Eternal Ice, along with some Pictos and Grandiose Chroma Catalysts.
How to Defeat The Gargant
When you get close to Gargant, you’ll see him hunched over like a frozen statue but the moment you step near, the battle starts. Gargant constantly switches between Ice and Fire stances, and he only takes damage from the opposite element. If he’s glowing blue, he’s in Ice stance, so hit him with Fire attacks. If he’s glowing red, that’s Fire stance use Ice. Attacking with the wrong element won’t just do nothing, it can heal him. Start with Maelle if he opens in Ice stance use Brulerum, then follow up with Breaking Burn and Combustion for heavy Fire damage. When he shifts to Fire stance, swap in Lune and hit him with Ice Lance or Crippling Tsunami. Ice Lance is especially helpful since it slows him down, making his powerful moves easier to dodge.
Gargant may seem slow, but he has some strong attack combos. His Smash combo has a long wind-up followed by a delayed chain of hits don’t rush your parries, just watch his timing. His Ice Beam can freeze you, so it’s safer to sidestep unless you can parry it perfectly. The Spin Slam combo involves three spins and a big ground slam, so keep your distance until it’s over. And for Burn Blast, watch for a blue glow in mid-air that’s your parry window. Finally, Monoco is a great support character here. Use his Sakapatate Fire skills during Gargant’s Ice phase and switch to Stalact Punches when he’s in Fire stance.
