The Revenant is a support class in Elden Ring: Nightreign that is well-fitting for players who like to command spirits and scale with Faith. This guide covers everything on how to unlock her, master her spectral summons, and cast gear, relics, and stats optimally. Survival or flair spellcasting, Revenant will definitely bring an edge to your party.
How to Unlock the Revenant Class
Now as to how to get Revenant, just after you first defeat a Night Lord and unlock the Duchess, Revenant will present herself on the scene; however, the timing is not clearly definite. Just keep running your expeditions or assist others on doing theirs, (doing so whether you win or lose). After some time down the lane, she will venture in the Roundtable Hold, and when that happens, you shall see an exclamation mark outside the main hall on your map.
Facing the Revenant
With regards to equipment and characters, this would be a good spot for a Raider or Executor, as both deal a lot of damage and have strong ultimate abilities. The Executor stoops down to an easy perfect guard in these encounters, which means he can avoid damage without burning too much stamina.
Before you take any action, you want to ensure that your active character is not set to the Recluse. Once you enter into an interaction, you are seized by the Revenant and transported to a ruined spectral realm where you are challenged to a fight with her and her summons. The Revenant should be your primary target; however, the swordswoman and the Pumpkin Head can pose a slight problem for you. She also tends to spam Discus of Light, while the Giant Skeleton summon throws around ghostflame beams.
Defeat her, and she returns to Roundtable Hold as your ally.
Playstyle and Spirit Summons
The Revenant is built around summoning and support rather than pure offense. She starts with claw weapons that are great at close range and have a high crit chance. She also knows a healing Incantation, but without a natural way to regenerate FP, you’ll need to be careful with how often you cast it.
Her Summoning Skills:
- Necromancy: Non-boss enemies she defeats may fight by her side.
- Summon Spirit: She can summon one of three spirits at a time and switch them out. Once a summon is defeated, they can’t return until they’ve had time to recover.
Summons Available:
- Helen – A speedy swordfighter, good at distracting enemies but fragile.
- Frederick – A mobile Mad Pumpkin-Head with high damage; great for boss fights.
- Sebastian – A giant skeleton with strong attacks but poor mobility; better for crowd control.
Ultimate Skill – Immortal March:
Grants temporary immortality to allies and revives any nearby fallen ones. You’ll see ghostflame effects on characters while it’s active.
Best Stats and Gear
The Revenant scales best with Faith, followed by Arcane and Intelligence. Strength and Dexterity can work, but they’re not as effective. While she starts with claws, she can handle heavier weapons thanks to her high health.
Recommended Weapons:
- Faith-based: Magma Whip Candlestick, Winged Scythe, Halo Scythe
- Heavy options: Maliketh’s Black Blade, Grafted Dragon Head
- Arcane-based: Rivers of Blood (great bleed weapon)
Incantations and FP Management
She can use pretty much any spell—lightning, dragon, or fire—but don’t rely on magic alone. Since she can’t regenerate FP naturally, you’ll need items like Starlit Shards or other buffs to refill it during battle.
Relics to Look Out For
Two guaranteed relics are perfect for the Revenant’s setup:
- Grand Drizzly Scene: Boosts Faith and Arcane (+2 each) and triggers a ghostflame blast with ultimate (for the Recluse).
- Small Makeup Brush: Boosts power when fighting with spirit summons and increases rune gain for her and allies.
Optional bonus: A Luminous Scene gem may drop, which increases Mind and boosts lightning spell power—a nice bonus if you’re using lightning Incantations.
