One of the smartest things you can do early in Dune: Awakening is set up a reliable water source—and that’s where the Blood Purifier Station comes in. It might sound a bit grim, but blood is one of the most accessible resources early on, and with the right gear, you can turn it into the water you’ll need to stay alive.
Using the Blood Purifier Station to Produce Water

Before you can start producing water, make sure you’ve got the basics:
- Blood Extractor – used to collect blood from defeated enemies.
- Blood Sacks – where the extracted blood is stored.
- Blood Purifier Station – your main tool for turning blood into water.
- Literjon – optional, but super useful for storing water long-term.
The Process

- Defeat enemies and use your Blood Extractor to gather blood.
- The blood automatically goes into Blood Sacks.
- Place those sacks into the Blood Purifier.
- Wait. (Yep, it takes a bit.)
- Once done, either drink straight from the machine or transfer it into a Literjon to use later.
If you’re short on water and resources, try placing a few purifiers side by side to speed up your water supply. They take a while to process each sack, so having backups helps a lot.
Pro Tip: Pairing a Stillsuit with your purifier setup makes a huge difference—it minimizes how fast you burn through water. And when you unlock the Dew Harvester in the second zone, you’ll have a second water source to help you stockpile even more.
Looking Ahead
Water management only gets tougher as you progress. Some of the late-game blueprints, like the Ornithopter, demand absurd amounts of water—we’re talking over 850,000ml. So if you want to build big later, start hoarding early.
