Dunbarrow Cove Oblivion Remastered – How to Unlock and All Details

If you are after your own private pirate haven in Oblivion Remastered, then Dunbarrow Cove is where you will need to search. Located nearby Anvil, this cove allows you to recruit a crew, upgrade a vessel, and even send out your own pirates to gather treasure. We will show you in this guide how to locate Dunbarrow Cove, unlock it, and what you can do inside.

How to Find Dunbarrow Cove

You can find Dunbarrow Cove a little south of Anvil. It appears as a cave on the map. Just fast travel there, and you can see the entrance named Smuggler’s Cave. Enter inside and go ahead. Initially, you’ll need to take care of some skeletons who guard the area. After eliminating them, you can see the wreckage of a pirate ship named the Black Flag inside the cove.

How to Unlock Dunbarrow Cove

Once you kill the enemies, you’ll discover a Captain’s Journal on a skeleton in the captain’s quarters of the ship. This initiates the quest to open Dunbarrow Cove and hire a crew to operate it.

You’ll be directed to speak with Delilah Draconis at a ship named the Clarabella (she’s near Anvil). With her, you can:

  • Employ new crew members such as a fence, a fletcher, a spy master, a supplier, and security.
  • Upgrade the ship piece by piece.
  • Hire pirates who will be sent on quests for you.

Each time you employ a couple of upgrades, you also release new pirates to join your crew. When your crew is assembled, they will begin to bring you loot on a weekly basis.

After you have everything installed, the cove is your own pirate hideout. This is what’s inside:

  • Vendors: Members of the crew who sell weapons, spells, arrows, poisons, and even provide training for skills such as Sneak and Lockpicking.
  • A Fence: You can sell stolen items here, but they only deal during the day though.
  • A Training Chest: Perfect for leveling up your lockpicking ability.
  • Pirates for Hire: You can deploy them on raiding missions. They’ll bring back gold in a few days.

You’ll have your own ship to explore too, featuring sleeping areas and storage spaces where you can hoard your loot.
