Slayer’s Fang in Destiny 2
New to the fray is Slayer’s Fang: an Exotic Shotgun available in the Kell’s Fall mission; this Void weapon really packs a punch from slug rounds that blast apart into several projectiles upon contact, great for clearing groups of enemies quickly.
But that’s not all! Slayer’s Fang also comes with some handy utility features. It can stun Overload Champions, a type of powerful enemy, and weaken other combatants, making them easier to defeat.
Here’s a breakdown of its special abilities:
- Nightsworn Sight: Every enemy you take down grants you Truesight (better visibility), improved ammo efficiency, and the ability to weaken your foes.
- Heart Piercer: Each shot from this gun unleashes a barrage of smaller projectiles, dealing extra damage to Overload Champions.
How to find Slayer’s Fang in Destiny 2
Kell’s Fall is a challenging new mission with a twist: it comes in three distinct versions – Reflection, Distortion, and Diffraction. Each version features a unique boss, making every run a fresh experience.
- Reflection: Face off against Reksis Vahn, the Hangman. This brutal Scorn champion is a master of close-quarters combat, so you’ll need to be quick on your feet and master the art of dodging his attacks.
- Distortion: Prepare to face the Scorned Organist, a terrifying creature that unleashes devastating soundwaves and powerful area-of-effect attacks.
- Diffraction: That’s the final test. Fikrul, the Fanatic, awaits, bringing a brutal surge of power and a series of intricate challenges. This final duel will put you through the wringer and leave you with an unforgettable mark.
To get your hands on Slayer’s Fang, you’ll need to conquer the challenging Kell’s Fall mission. Completing it once rewards you with your first version of this powerful Exotic shotgun. However, the replay of Kell’s Fall will unlock you to upgraded versions of Slayer’s Fang. But to fully customize it, you need to extract its pattern so that you could craft your version of the shotgun, giving you more control over its unique perks and stats.
The journey to acquiring the powerful Slayer’s Fang Exotic Shotgun begins with a new questline called “Revenant Slayer.” You’ll unlock this questline after completing the “Act 3: Kell of Kells” mission in Destiny 2.
- The Revenant Slayer questline is divided into four parts. To complete each part, you’ll need to play through it twice: once on normal difficulty and then again on the more challenging Expert difficulty.
- Once you’ve met the requirements, you’ll find the first part of the Revenant Slayer quest unlocked. Head back to Eido in her laboratory to begin.
- Eido will provide you with all four Revenant Slayer quests simultaneously. You can attempt to complete them all in a single playthrough.
- The first step in each quest requires you to defeat 20 enemies while they are affected by a special “Tonic Capsule.”
This questline is specifically tied to the Kell of Kells Exotic Mission. Be sure to stay within that mission area, as you might see quest markers appearing on other locations, such as The Moon, which are not relevant to this questline.
Slayer’s Fang Catalyst in Destiny 2
Slayer’s Fang has four different catalysts, each offering unique upgrades. To get these catalysts, you’ll need to complete a series of quests. These quests involve tracking down specific objects hidden within the Expert difficulty version of the Kell’s Fall mission. To unlock the full potential of Slayer’s Fang, you’ll need to complete a series of challenging quests called “Revenant Slayer.”
- First, you must defeat 20 enemies in each of these quests.
- Then, you’ll need to replay the mission on “Expert” difficulty.
- On Expert, your main objective is to destroy four special objects called “Illusory Anchors.”
- These Anchors are hidden in four specific locations: the Mirror Gallery, the Fighting Pit, the Sanctum, and the Throne Room.
- Crucially, you must equip your Slayer’s Fang Exotic Shotgun to destroy these Anchors.
This series of quests will unlock powerful upgrades for your Slayer’s Fang and enhance its abilities significantly. Once you’ve successfully destroyed all four Illusory Anchors, you’ll be rewarded with a unique catalyst for your Slayer’s Fang. In fact, you’ll receive four different catalysts:
- Repulsor Brace Refit
- Loose Change Refit
- Stats For All Refit
- Cascade Point Refit
These catalysts can be used to significantly upgrade your Slayer’s Fang. For example, the “Repulsor Brace Refit” can grant you an overshield, while the “Loose Change Refit” will boost your movement speed when aiming down sights.
