To get to the Desert Fragment puzzle, first, you need to go to the Tomb of Perdition. After taking the teleporter, you need to climb upwards through the next section. After using the teleporter, you need to go forward, which will take you to the Desert Fragment puzzle location. There is also a fast travel spot nearby.
Desert Fragment Puzzle Solution
When you enter the Desert Fragment region, you will need to use the main control in the center to see an overhead view of the puzzle. This will allow you to see a number of small square blocks which can be used to change the direction of beams of light.
This puzzle involves controlling light beams as they pass through a number of cubes. To do this, you will need to use the R2 and L2 buttons to select and turn the cube which is currently highlighted in blue. You will need to control the light so that it shines on the three colored gems located at the back of the room. As the light shines on each cube, you will need to turn it so that it continues to shine on the other colored gems, which are still unlit. The three colored gems are placed in these locations:
- one on the left
- one at the top
- one on the right edge
Carefully move each cube so the light shines through the cube and onto the next cube. Each time the light hits another cube, adjust the new cube so the light continues on towards the remaining targets. Once all three yellow points are lit, go over to the last device in the area and use Force Palm on it. This will restore the Abyss and finish the Desert Fragment puzzle.
