Crash Suit Challenge Guide – Revenge of The Savage Planet (Crash Test Dummy Achievement)

Unlock the Crash Test Dummy quest in Revenge of the Savage Planet and complete the hilarious Crash Suit Challenge. This guide walks you through how to trigger the mission and intentionally “fail” four deadly tests in creative ways—all in the name of science and Shama Lama’s quirky experiments.

How to Unlock Crash Test Dummy Quest

The Crash Test Dummy is part of the D.I.A.P.E.R. Program DLC, so you’ll need to have that content installed to access it. After meeting that requirement, you’ll still need to unlock it within the game. Unlike some missions that become available early on, the Crash Test Dummy quest takes a bit more progress.

To unlock this quest, you must first complete one of the early missions given by the Shama Lama—like Interstellar Geographic. Once you’ve finished any of those, the Crash Test Dummy mission will appear during your next visit to the Habitat.

How Complete the Crash Suit Challenge

In this quest, the Shama Lama hooks you up with a special suit upgrade. You’ll need to activate it through the upgrades menu—and don’t worry, you can switch it off whenever you want. But heads up: this suit isn’t like the others. It instantly drops your HP down to the default minimum, no matter how much Orange Goo you’ve collected.

The suit also comes with some quirky revival animations when you respawn back at the Habitat, and it disables the fall damage immunity upgrade. That’s a not-so-subtle clue about one of the ways you’re expected to die.

Basically, the Shama Lama wants you to die—again and again—in the name of science. You’ll need to “test” the suit by dying in four specific (and sometimes confusing) ways. Here’s what you need to do to meet your end, just like Shama Lama wants.

High-Speed Landing

This one’s pretty simple: just fall. The suit disables your fall damage immunity, so all you need to do is find a tall ledge and take a dive. Since your health is already super low, it doesn’t have to be that high. Hit the ground hard, and that’s your first “failure” checked off.

Extreme Heat

Burn, baby, burn! This one’s easy too. Lava pits, fire attacks from enemies, even splashing yourself with Lava Goo—there are plenty of ways to go out in flames. Pick your favorite fire hazard and jump in.

High Voltage Current

Now this one’s trickier. You have to get electrocuted to death, but there aren’t any regular enemies or weapons that do electric damage. Instead, look for an electrified mushroom—jump into it or use Ferrous Goo to make a path from it and walk right into the zap zone. Boom, another fail complete.

Flash Solidification

This is the hardest one of the bunch. The term sounds fancy, but what it really means is you need to freeze and then die while still frozen. Trouble is, freezing doesn’t cause damage on its own. You’ve got two freezing sources: icy plants scattered around and flying frost enemies in the Zenethian Rift.

Here’s the tricky part:

  • If enemies freeze you, they might also just kill you too fast.
  • If you freeze yourself using a plant, you’ll have to lure an enemy over and hope they finish you off before the ice wears off (which only lasts about five seconds).
  • Even worse, the plant might freeze the enemy too, ruining the whole setup.

It’s a bit of a headache and might take a few tries, but once you finally get it right, you’ll complete all the suit failure tests. No big reward at the end, but you’ll be one step closer to wrapping up the D.I.A.P.E.R. Program. So hey—go die for science!
