Setting a mission towards Charging in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate throws players into an objective laid on the grounds of a non-liner and high-stake setting across the rugged terrain of Kepler. Power to a reactor is to be restored through the activation of several generators, charging pylons, and dispatching of the unrelenting Master Technician. This step-by-step walkthrough will take you through everything, so your smooth proceedings in completing the mission will land you the Strangelet Capsule.
Beginning the Mission

To begin with, you’ll need to retrieve the Strangelet capsule in the Outer Steppes. Your first destination therefore is the Outer Wastes on Kepler, which is just above The Gorge on your map. Once you’re in the area, a goal to restore power has been set for you at the inactive reactor within the support to Aionian Campus. Enter the establishment and begin exploring for dark matter components scattered within. These can be crushed with your own hands to assist with stabilization. Moving farther in, you’ll find a gate that you can break through leading into a dark cave that eventually opens up into a rocky terrain filled with reddish stones. More dark matter awaits you here. When you’ve stabilized the necessary components in this area, your first objective will be complete.
Charging the Reactor and Dealing With Threats
Next, you’ll need to find the reactor and begin the process of charging it. The reactor itself is located inside the same establishment. However, before you can activate it, you’ll encounter Unyielding Servitors roaming the area, so be ready for combat. To power the reactor, you must charge two pylons located nearby. Once these are active, you’ll be able to move on to the next stage which involves locating three generators to fully activate the reactor.
Activating the First and Second Generators
From here, your next objective is to locate a separate power source, a generator that plays a crucial role in activating the reactor. To find it, head left from the reactor and make your way back to the red rock area. As you explore, you’ll spot a ledge-like structure that allows you to activate Matterspeak.
This ability lasts for about a minute and helps speed up your search for the generator. Keep moving and you’ll eventually reach a large door that leads into a cave where the generator is located. Prepare for a fight, as enemies guard this area as well.
Once inside, you’ll need to charge two pylons again. Use Matterspeak and supercharge yourself using nearby dark matter to reach the lower vent, where you’ll find the first pylon. Repeat this process to reach the second one. After both pylons are charged, you can activate the generator. Once it’s up and running, head back to the reactor. The path is fairly straightforward, but be warned, the Master Technician will block your way. Defeating him is necessary to progress.
Afterward, you’ll need to find the second generator. From the reactor room, go through a large gate that leads into a rocky terrain. Look straight ahead and you’ll notice a Relocator device sandwiched between rock structures. You’ll need to manipulate stones to create a bridge-like structure that allows you to reach it.
Once you’ve crossed over, aim at the Relocator to align the area and gain access to the generator site. Again, expect enemies here. You’ll repeat the process of charging two pylons, using Matterspeak to help guide you. After activating the second generator, you’re ready to move on.
Final Generator and Showdown With the Master Technician

Now it’s time to find the third and final generator. Exit the second generator room by keeping to your right. You’ll enter a new area filled with broken structures and exposed pipes. Supercharge yourself and use the fragmented sheets and beams to navigate the area. Eventually, you’ll find the entrance to the final generator room, where another Relocator can be picked up. Just like before, you’ll need to activate Matterspeak and use it to locate and charge two pylons in the area. Once both pylons are powered, activate the final generator and prepare to return to the reactor for the last showdown.
Heading back to the reactor this time won’t be easy. You’ll have to face the Master Technician once more in a final, tough battle. First, grab the Arc Charge and continue to supercharge yourself using the available dark matter. While fighting, make sure to insert the Arc Charge into the reactor. Once the Master Technician is defeated and the reactor is powered up, the Strangelet Capsule will be ready for integration. Completing this final step will finish your mission.
