Hidden in the tangled canopies of the Chaos Forest, this Abyss challenge contains environmental traps and also punishes reckless movement. You’ll need to navigate shifting platforms, disable rune locked sentinels and solve a short sequence of pressure plate puzzles. This guide gives a step by step route and the puzzle order to restore the abyss and claim the Abyss Artifact.
Activating the First Mechanism

At the beginning of the Chaos Forest Abyss, you’ll notice a wall that you need to lift using Nature’s Grasp to get to the other side.

Once through, you’ll notice 2 sets of roots covering up some parts of the ground. The nearest roots cover up the socket and the farther one covers up a pool of water, which we will get back to in a moment. You need to use the Focus Light skill on these roots and hold it for a few seconds and these roots start burning and will be cleared.

Now, get the ledge and you’ll notice the energy cell on a platform below but the chip is on lava, and this is where the pool of water comes in. You need to dunk the chip inside the pool of water to clear the lava. If for some reason, you got bugged out on this part like I did, then place the chip on the ground near you and then you need to attack the chip using your Frost Imbue element, and fortunately I did possess the frost imbue at the moment so I needn’t worry about the bug. And if you don’t have the frost element then reload the last checkpoint and try again, probably the bug will no longer bother.

Then fix the energy cell into the socket, this will activate the mechanism and you can get to the next part of the puzzle.
Path to the Next Puzzle Area

Which will be at the pointed location under the stairs as shown in the above picture, turn left and go under the stairs.

You’ll notice more roots, use Focus Light to burn them and get to the other side where you’ll notice the large door which you need to lift using Nature’s Grasp.

Inside you’ll find another energy cell that you need to fix onto the socket on the wall and along with that you’ll also find an Abyss Fragment, at the moment I was not sure where to use it so I assumed it must be used as a blockade so that the large door does not close completely ( peak gaming skills in action ) and I still don’t know what must be done with it.
Restoring the Abyss

After you’ve fixed the chip into the socket, the large button’s power is restored and now you just need to push the button.

This will restore the Abyss and you’ve successfully completed the Chaos Forest Abyss Challenge.
