Brotherly Love Quest Guide – Tainted Grail

Brotherly Love is a side quest in Tainted Grail that shows a dark family secret. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to start the quest, where to go, and what choices to make to see it through to the end and earn a useful reward that increases your carrying capacity.

How to Start the Brotherly Love Quest

To start the Brotherly Love quest, you’ll first need to find a special belt buckle. Head to the Haunted Well, which is right in the middle of Cuanacht. Walk along the cliff on the eastern side of the well, and look for a spot on the rock that you can interact with. This will reveal a hidden tunnel.

Go inside, follow the path, and drop down when you reach the ledge. There’s a monster waiting for you down there called a Nuckelavee. Defeat it, and then loot its body to get the belt buckle. As soon as you pick it up, the quest will automatically begin.

After getting the Belt Buckle from the wyrdbeast, your next step is to find out more about it. Talk to a few people in the area, and you’ll eventually be pointed toward Rob and Gil’s cottage in the Farmlands. Go inside and speak with Rob. He’ll open up about his past and his grandfather. When you show him the Belt Buckle you found in the Haunted Well, he gets confused, especially because Gil had already said some strange things about their grandfather.

Rob tells you he needs time to talk things over with Gil. To move things forward, rest at a nearby bonfire to pass some time. After that, speak to Rob again. He reveals a shocking truth: Gil actually killed their grandfather to protect Rob and has been living with that guilt ever since. Once the conversation ends, the quest is complete, and you’ll receive Hard Back, a reward that boosts your Encumbrance Limit by 45.
