In Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, the “Branded and Exiled” quest sends you on a mission to reunite a desperate wife with her missing husband. Track down Rhosyn, fight through deadly bandits, defeat the fearsome Bald Cait, and help Morris escape a grim fate—all for solid loot, XP, and heartfelt gratitude.
Starting the Quest: Find Rhosyn
Head over to the southwest corner of the map, just beyond the Horns of the South compound. You’re aiming for the Village area. Take the outer path that wraps around the fortress walls and follow the long, winding stairways down.
Once you enter the village, take an immediate left (heading southwest) just after you go through the gate. Follow the path a bit, and you’ll come across Rhosyn’s house.
What’s Going On?
On conversing with Rhosyn you will find out about her missing husband, Morris. She’s worried he might be dead, but there’s hope he’s still alive. This kicks off the “Branded and Exiled” quest.
Where’s Morris?
He’s been taken by Bald Cait and is now being held at The Mill in the Abandoned Village, located east of the Abandoned Stronghold and just northwest of the Ruined Broch.
Make your way there and get ready for a fight—bandits are all over the place.
Storm the Mill
Eliminate all the enemies outside before heading inside The Mill. You’ll need to fight your way to the lower levels where Bald Cait and her thugs are waiting.
This fight isn’t a walk in the park—it’s on par with boss-level difficulty, like taking on Senan the Giant. So, stock up on healing potions, drink your buff potions, and prepare for a tough fight.
Tip: Focus on dodging Cait’s relentless attacks. Take down the smaller enemies first, then deal with Cait when she’s alone. Keep your distance and use counterattacks to your advantage.
After the Battle
Once you beat Cait, loot her for:
- Bald Cait’s Head (important!)
- Bald Cait’s Tunic
- 77 coins
- Branding Iron
- Leather Gloves
- Leather Pants
- Sturdy Leather Boots
Next, find Morris. Free him and hand over Cait’s head—he’ll need it to prove he’s not a threat. Remember, being branded is basically a death sentence, so this is his only way back into society.
Wrap It Up
Once Morris is freed, exit The Mill and head back to the Village to check in with Rhosyn. You’ll see that the two are back together and grateful for everything you’ve done.
