Borderlands 4 – All Firmware Sets & Bonuses

Firmware in Borderlands 4 is an endgame element for those who want to maximize their builds. Firmware is not like weapons because it will not appear on any guns, but only on Ordnance, Rep-Kits, Shields, Class Mods, and Enhancements, and it provides passive benefits that are incredibly powerful when stacked. Having a number of items of the same Firmware unlocks set bonuses so that players have an option to specialize in damage, survivability, or special mechanics.

There are 18 Firmware sets in total, and they can give a maximum of three escalating effects depending on how many pieces you have on. Following is a complete list of all Firmware sets and bonuses.

How to Equip More Firmware Bonuses

After the campaign, Zane’s Transfer Machine is available to any Faction Town in Kairos. With the machine, you can pull Firmware off one device and transfer it to another. The original Firmware item gets destroyed but the receiving device takes the bonus for good.

It allows you to gain set bonuses by stacking the same kind of Firmware on different items. Firmware is type-locked, though—Firmware meant for Ordnance can be ported to no other Ordnance item, the same being true of Rep-Kits, Shields, Class Mods, and Enhancements.
