Tattered Page in Black Myth: Wukong are important because it lets you craft useful tonics and medicines at any shrine, as long as you have the right plants. This guide will tell you every location so you can get them all and unlock the Page Preserver trophy with no trouble.
All Formula Locations (Tattered Pages) in Black Myth Wukong
You’ll unlock the Page Preserver trophy once you’ve collected all 14 medicine formulas in the game. These formulas let you craft different medicines and tonics at any shrine, as long as you have the right plants.
Most of them are picked up naturally as you play through the story or finish certain quests. A good number can also be bought from Xu Dog once you reach the right point in the main storyline. But a few formulas need a bit more work. You’ll have to explore specific areas or complete certain quests to get them.
Evil Repelling Formula
To get this formula, make your way to Sandgate Village and start from the Village Entrance. When you’re facing the shrine, go left until you reach a cave. Head inside, drop down from the far end, and you’ll trigger a fight with Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw, a large frog-like enemy. Defeat it, and the formula will drop as your reward.
Longevity Decoction
This one is very simple. You can buy the Longevity Decoction directly from Xu Dog once you meet him. In Chapter Two, you’ll unlock the Longevity Decoction, which is great for quickly restoring your HP in the middle of a fight, especially during long combo chains.
Tonifying Decoction
You’ll be able to purchase this formula from Xu Dog after you finish Chapter 2. Check back with him once the chapter is done. In Chapter Three, you gain access to the Tonifying Decoction. This one helps your stamina come back faster, making it easier to dodge, and sprint.
Fortifying Medicament
This formula becomes available for purchase from Xu Dog after you encounter him in the Cellar area during Chapter 2. Once you’ve met him there, he’ll add it to his shop. When you use this, it increases the Tenacity of certain staff skills, making them much harder for enemies to interrupt. The effect only lasts for a short time, but it helps you stay steady while casting or attacking.
Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets
Start from the Precept Corridor shrine in Bitter Lake and take the right path. Head down the slope and continue until you find a golden container at the very end of the path. Open it to collect this formula. When you use this, it gives you a big damage boost that lasts for quite a long time, making all your attacks hit much harder.
Body-Fleeting Powder
Begin at the New Thunderclap Temple, then go to the Temple Entrance shrine. Walk toward the temple and exit through the opposite side. When you reach the two staircases, take the left one and keep close to the building on your left.
You’ll eventually find another set of stairs going down, follow them and enter the temple. Make your way up to the balcony, then out through the door. Turn left and go all the way to the end of the path to find the formula.
Essence Decoction
This formula becomes available from Xu Dog after you finish Chapter 3. Just visit him again to buy it. By Chapter Four, you’ll be able to use the Essence Decoction. It increases your focus regeneration, which is perfect if you like casting spells one after another without waiting too long between them.
Enhanced Ginseng Pellets
Travel to The Verdure Bridge in Webbed Hollow. Take the path on the left to reach an area covered in cocoons. From there, go left toward the stairs but stop before climbing them. Turn right instead and go into the room full of chests. The formula is hidden inside one of them.
Mirage Pill
Head to Webbed Hollow then to the Verdure Bridge shrine. With the shrine behind you, take the left path into the cocoon area. Stick to the left and drop down, then follow the route forward and climb the stairs.
You’ll arrive at a big tree beside a house and take the path on the left side of the house. Go up the stairs, check the hut on the right, and open the container inside to get the Mirage Pill formula.
Life-Saving Pill
Travel to Purple Cloud Mountain then to the Petalfall Hamlet and cross the bridge on the right. Once you enter the village, turn right and follow the road. Slip through the left side of the building ahead and keep going straight. You’ll soon come to a hut that holds a golden box. Open it to claim the formula.
Loong Aura Amplification Pellets
After completing Chapter 4, Xu Dog will start selling this formula. Just talk to him again once the chapter concludes. These give you a temporary increase to your critical damage, which means your big hits will hurt even more for a short time.
Septenary Heartfire Pill
Start at Bishui Cave then to the Purge Pit. Behind the shrine, look for a ledge you can jump onto. You can either hop onto the nearby small rock first and then jump again, or do a single jump and use your heavy attack mid-air to gain extra height. Once you’re on top, walk forward until you find a wooden chest. Open it to get the formula.
Ascension Powder
You’ll automatically receive this formula during Chapter 6 after defeating the Supreme Inspector. There’s no way to miss it. For a short time after you use this, you won’t spend any Stamina at all meaning you can dodge, sprint, and attack freely without worrying about running out.
Soul Remigration Pill
This formula is available only in New Game+, where you can buy it from Xu Dog once again. When you use this, it lets you come back to life if you die, and it stays active for a long time. It basically gives you a free resurrection before your Life Saving Strand would normally kick in.
