Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 drops players right into the turbulent medieval world of Bohemia. Survival depends more on skill and cunning than good equipment. And while the game offers a multitude of weapons and armor, effective gear early in the game is crucial to progress. This guide will highlight some of the best early-game locations for weapons and armor, an important advantage to help you make your way through the challenges and dangers that lie ahead. From hidden axes in abandoned farmhouses to powerful swords guarded by wolves, this information will help you equip Henry for success without spending a single Groschen.
Best Early Game Weapons and Armors Locations
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there are some great weapons and items you can snag early on that work well with different playstyles. A lot of this stuff is free, either just lying around to be picked up, looted from enemies, or earned by completing early quests. Picking the right gear can make a big difference, helping you take down enemies and get a good start in the game.
Pebbles Location
You could walk everywhere in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but honestly, riding a horse is way faster, easier, and safer. If you’re looking for a horse, you can find Pebbles in Semine, a town in the southern part of the map.
Mutt Location
So, if you ask around Troskovitz, people will probably tell you to talk to the herb woman in the forest – you might already know her. She’s your best bet for finding out what happened to your dog. Also, it’s a good idea to go back to where you fell in the rocks; that’ll give you a clue about which way your dog went. Basically, between talking to the herb woman and checking out the rocks, you’ll probably figure out that your dog is still alive… and has probably joined up with some wolves to survive.
Fighting the Wolves
Okay, so you know your dog’s gone all “wolf” on you. Now you need to find his pack. You’ll probably hear from someone at the tavern or inn that you should either visit the shepherd in Kopanina (he’s having wolf trouble) or talk to the fisherman at Vidlak Pond (he knows about some action near Rockwater Pond).
Neither of those guys will lead you directly to your dog, but they will point you towards the Gameskeeper. Instead of going straight to his place, though, head north of Vidlak along the river. You’ll find him up a tree, surrounded by wolves!
This kicks off the “Lackey” quest, which you’ll have to finish before the Gameskeeper can help you. Once you’ve wrapped that up, he’ll tell you about wolf sightings near the Nomad Camp in the west. And guess what? That’s where you’ll finally find your furry friend.
Finding your dog isn’t going to be a walk in the park. You’ll run into him near the Nomad Camp, but get ready – there are five hungry wolves there too! Luckily, Mutt will fight by your side, which definitely helps.
The trick here is to use Mutt’s “Sic” command to distract the wolves. This gives you openings to attack without getting mauled. Just be sure to keep an eye on all the wolves so they don’t sneak up on you.
Finding Mutt
Once you take down a couple of wolves, the rest should run off, and you and Mutt will be reunited! But don’t leave just yet. Check out the nearby cave – there’s a pile of bones and carcasses where you can find some good meat, coins, and some valuable jewelry. Also, definitely skin the wolves – you can poach them without getting in trouble, and their hides and meat are worth grabbing.
Now that Mutt’s back with you, it’s your job to take care of him – feed him and, well, he’s already pretty well-behaved, so just don’t neglect him. If you do those things, he’ll be a great companion. He’ll help you fight, stick by your side through thick and thin, and even track things for you when you need him to.
Dogwood Village Bow Location
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, getting up close and personal in melee combat is the key. You have to be strategic: find openings in your opponent’s defenses, parry their attacks, dodge blows, and ensure that your own strikes land precisely. Bows are also a great option for taking enemies down from afar. You don’t start with one, but you can actually snag a free bow pretty early in the game if you know
where to search.
Spade Location
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a spade can be surprisingly useful for certain quests and other activities. If you’re in the Trosky area and need one, you don’t have to go far from Troskowitz. Just east of the town, you’ll find the Troskowitz Cemetery – that’s a great place to look for a spade early on.
Dagger Location
Head southwest of Troskowitz to Lower Semine. You’ll find Miller Kreyzl working near his house. Right next to his workstation, there’s a wooden shack – go inside, turn right, and you’ll find a dagger stuck in a table. Just interact with it to add it to your inventory!
Skalitz Axe Location
- Min Strength: 12
- Min Agility: 8
- Defence: 114
- Durability: 98
- Weight: 6
If you’re just starting out in Troskowitz, head to the south side of town and keep an eye out for an abandoned farmhouse. There’s a really good axe hidden there – definitely one of the best you can find early in the game. It might not be the absolute best weapon you’ll find later on, but it’s way better than going without!
Von Bergow Knight Shield Location
Want a great early shield in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? Southwest of Troskowitz, there’s a fresh grave with a Von Bergow Knight Shield inside – it’s the best you’ll find early on. First, grab a spade. Then, head west out of Troskowitz on the main road, take a left at the Shrine, and go through the trees on the other side. You’ll find a big rock with the grave next to it. Dig it up! Besides the shield, you’ll also find a body with a flanged mace, coif, gambeson, and gloves. Just a heads-up, though: most of this gear is damaged and needs repairs before you can use it.
Knight Brunswick’s Location
If you pre-ordered Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and have the Lion’s Crest DLC, you can hunt down the Brunswick armor. It’s a quest with riddles and treasure maps that send you all over the Trosky region to find the different pieces. You can start this quest as soon as you finish the tutorial in Troskowitz, but be warned: it does take you to various locations in the region, so be careful exploring unfamiliar areas.
Broadsword Location
One of the best early weapons in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a broadsword. It’s free and available as soon as the world opens up, but there’s a catch: you have to put in some work to get it. It’s connected to the quest to find Mutt, Henry’s dog. Tracking Mutt down takes you all over the map, talking to different people. Once you do find him and deal with the wolves nearby, don’t just leave! Search the den in that area. That’s where you’ll find the broadsword.
Knight’s Longsword Location
There’s a really great sword hidden deep in the forest, near a cross. Getting there takes a while, and you’ll need to watch your step – the terrain is rough, and falling can be deadly (especially with the game’s save system). This sword, the Knight’s Sword, has pretty high requirements, so you might not be able to use it right away.
