Best Class to Play in Shadowverse Worlds Beyond

When you are new to Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond and need a familiar class to suit your playing style, deciding which one is best can be challenging. Every one of the seven classes offers something unique in terms of appearance, style, and gameplay, with combos and spells, to dragons and tokens. In this guide, we will discuss what each class is about and assist you in finding the one that suits how you enjoy playing.

Forestcraft – For the Combo Players

Forestcraft is all about nature-themed cards and fast, combo-heavy gameplay. If you enjoy aggressive playstyles that flood the board with small units and pull off cool, back-to-back card combos, then Forestcraft is right for you.

Forestcraft can struggle against control decks. If your opponent has good board-clearing spells or ways to stall the game, you might run out of steam in the late game. So, while it’s great for quick and clever plays, it needs to win fast before control decks take over. You can use cards that generate little Fairy tokens and save them up for a powerful finishing combo. If you enjoy clever, technical gameplay and like setting up tricky plays, Forestcraft is for you.

Swordcraft – For the Strategist Players

Swordcraft is perfect for players who like to stay in control of the battlefield. It’s a class built around follower-vs-follower combat, where you try to keep the upper hand by playing lots of units and pushing for damage early on. If you want a class that teaches you the basics or helps you improve your fundamentals, Swordcraft is for you

The class really shines with its Officer and Commander synergies, plus the Rally keyword, which rewards you for swarming the board. Evolving your followers plays a big role too, helping you stay ahead and deal even more damage as the game goes on.

Runecraft – For the Spell Masters

Runecraft is a spell-heavy class that’s all about smart planning and big payoffs. If you enjoy casting spells and building up powerful effects over time, this class might be your thing. A lot of Runecraft cards get stronger the more runes or spells you’ve played, like drawing extra cards or dealing more damage but it takes time to set up. That means if your opponent is super aggressive, you might be in trouble before your strategy really kicks in.

There are two main ways to play Runecraft: Spellboost and Earth Rite. Spellboost is all about casting lots of spells to power up the cards in your hand making them cheaper or giving them better effects. Earth Rite focuses on creating special amulets called Earth Sigils and then using other cards that consume them to trigger powerful abilities. Both styles need good timing and careful planning, but when it all comes together, Runecraft can be incredibly rewarding. If you like casting spells and controlling the game with smart plays, Runecraft will be for you.

Dragoncraft – For the Power Builders

Dragoncraft is all about dragons and anything big and powerful. You’ll see dragons, half-dragon warriors, and monsters that smash everything in their path. Your main goal is to ramp up your play points quickly so you can unleash massive creatures and spells before your opponent is ready.

Once you hit seven play points, you unlock a special effect called Overflow, which makes many of your cards even stronger. So, not only are you playing big threats early, but those threats get bonus effects too. Dragoncraft is perfect for players who love flashy, over-the-top plays, summoning huge monsters and crushing the opponent with raw power.

Abysscraft – For the Risk-Takers

If you’ve played the original Shadowverse, you’ll notice that Abysscraft in Worlds Beyond brings something new while also feeling familiar. It combines elements from the old Shadowcraft and Bloodcraft classes into one deadly and strategic faction. You’ll often be taking out your followers to set up combos or remove enemy threats.

Abysscraft rewards smart planning and careful resource management. You’ll need to keep track of what’s in your graveyard and set up your combos just right. It’s powerful, but also risky if you don’t draw the right pieces or mismanage your hand; things can fall apart quickly. If you’re okay with playing a bit recklessly and using every tool, even your units, as fuel for power, Abysscraft might be your favourite.

Havencraft – For the Patient Protectors

Havencraft is the go-to class for players who like to play it safe and outlast their opponents. If you enjoy slowing things down, healing up, and using defensive tactics to stay in control, then Havencraft is a great pick.  If you like playing defensively and controlling every part of the game until you’re ready to turn the tables, Havencraft is a strong choice.

One of Havencraft’s key features is Countdown amulets. These are special cards that take a few turns to activate, but when they do, they can summon powerful followers or trigger big effects. You can also speed things up with cards that reduce the countdown, helping you bring out your win conditions faster.

The trade-off is that Havencraft decks tend to start slow. You’ll need to survive the early pressure from aggressive decks using cards with Ward, healing, and board-clearing spells. But if you manage to hold on, you’ll be able to turn the tide with big late-game plays and wear your opponent down with overwhelming control.

Portalcraft – For the Chaos Players

Portalcraft is one of the most strategic and flexible classes in Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond. If you enjoy carefully planning your moves and pulling off big, high-skill plays, this class will feel incredibly rewarding. Portalcraft is all about using special mechanics like generating Puppets or Artifacts to build powerful combos and dominate the board with smart timing.

You can play Portalcraft in many ways: midrange, control, or full-on combo, but all styles need a good setup. That means you might struggle a bit in the early game if things don’t go your way. It’s a class for players who like thinking several steps ahead.

One of Portalcraft’s signature mechanics is Resonance, which activates when you have an even number of cards in your deck. So managing your draw and card count is super important. Many cards have effects that only work or work better when Resonance is active, sometimes even needing it to trigger multiple times in a match. If you love variety, creativity, and thinking ahead, you’ll probably like the Portalcraft.
