Best Armors in Monster Hunter Wilds

As we all eagerly anticipate Monster Hunter Wilds, the search for the ultimate armor starts. Though the “best” one depends on playstyle, there are some that shine with universally useful skills and strong defenses. This article aims to give you a few promising armors, pointing out their major strengths in order to help you survive the wild and arduous hunts ahead.

Best Armors In MH Wilds

The best armor often depends on the weapon a hunter is using, but the skills these sets offer are universally helpful. Plus, they happen to look pretty stylish. That said, if these picks don’t match someone’s fashion sense, there’s always the option to check out the MH Wilds transmog guide, so you won’t have to choose between a strong build and looking cool.

Guardian Ebony A

The Guardian Ebony A set brings a different kind of utility with Divine Blessing and Earplugs. These skills help you stay on your feet against even the toughest monsters, reducing damage taken and preventing you from getting stunned by their roars. It also features the Burst skill, giving you a temporary damage boost after landing five consecutive hits.

To craft the Guardian Ebony Set in Monster Hunter: Wilds, you’ll need the following materials:

  1. Guardian Ebony Scale x4
  2. Guardian Ebony Sinew x4
  3. Guardian Ebony Fang x3
  4. Guardian Ebony Odogaron Certificate x1
  5. Guardian Ebony Tail x2
  6. Guardian Ebony Claw x3
  7. Guardian Ebony Plate x1

These materials are typically obtained from various Guardian Ebony monsters and will likely require multiple hunts. Make sure to gather enough of each to complete the set!

Rathalos

The Rathalos set is a good alternative. It provides the fire resistance missing from the Hirabami set while retaining the handy Evade Window skill. Additionally, it contains the Constitution skill, which minimizes stamina loss when blocking or evading, and is a good all-around choice for more challenging fights.

The Guardian Rathalos Set can be crafted using the following materials:

  • 4,000 Zenny
  • 6 Guardian Rathalos Scales
  • 3 Guardian Rathalos Webbing
  • 2 Guardian Rathalos Tails
  • 1 Guardian Scale
  • 1 G. Rathalos Certificate
  • 5 Guardian Rathalos Shells
  • 1 Guardian Rathalos Plate

These materials are typically obtained from various Guardian Rathalos monsters and will likely require multiple hunts. Make sure to gather enough of each to complete the set!

Hirabami

The Hirabami armor set offers useful skills like Evade Window, which extends the invincibility frames while dodging, and Recovery Speed, which shortens the time it takes for healing items to restore health. These abilities are beneficial no matter the weapon or playstyle since everyone needs to dodge and heal at some point. The set provides solid base defense and strong resistance to ice damage, though it does have a weakness to fire. Because of this, it’s best to swap it out when exploring the Oilwell Basin.

The Hirabami Set in Monster Hunter Wilds (MHWilds) is a Low Rank armor set that can be crafted using materials dropped by the Hirabami monster.

To craft the Hirabami Set, you’ll need:

  • 2500z
  • 6 Hirabami Scales
  • 3 Hirabami Hides
  • 3 Hirabami Tail Claws
  • 1 Hirabami Certificate
  • 3 Hirabami Webbing
  • 1 Frozen Icebone
  • 1 Frost Sac
