Battlefield 6 – How to Complete a Mission Without Firing a Gun?

In Battlefield 6, there are certain challenges that really test your creativity, and one of the hardest is to finish a mission without firing a shot. But don’t worry, you’re not completely at their mercy. If you choose the right mission, leverage melee weapons, and use a smart strategy, you can complete this challenge successfully, and even get a special reward for your effort. In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the steps required to complete this challenge with ease.

Best Mission for the Challenge: “No Sleep”

The fifth campaign mission, “No Sleep,” is easily the best option to complete this challenge. Not only do you play as MSgt Haz Carter, but this level also provides you with a melee weapon very early in the level. Additionally, to simplify the challenge, make your difficulty Recruit before launching the mission.

At the start of the mission, you’ll disembark from a helicopter and follow Sgt. Acre to a briefing area. There is no shooting part in this mission sequence, so you can sit back with the knowledge that this part of the challenge cannot be bumped with a mistake. Stay with your squad until you reach the second building and then go down to Gecko. Once you find the interaction that says “Force Open”, it will trigger a brief cutscene — during the cutscene one of the members of your squad will hand you a Sledgehammer.

Why the Sledgehammer Is a Game-Changer

The Sledgehammer is going to be your best buddy in this operation. It’s a one-hit melee weapon that’ll drop any enemy in close quarters.  You have the option to equip it permanently by holding the melee button, so it is always ready.

When you get to the upper floor, there will be a number of enemies in confined spaces–an ideal scenario for using your new weapon. The combat is simple to manage: keep moving, get close and strike first. When you get to the rooftop, some enemies will start shooting at you from the other side of the street. You can give your squad the opportunity to take over those fights, as it is not a good use of your time to try and engage them, and there is risk of losing and failure.

Also, don’t overlook the RPGs lying around the roof. These count as gadgets, not firearms, so you can use them without breaking the challenge rules.

Finishing the Mission

From this point on, keep relying on the Sledgehammer for every encounter. Avoid charging into multiple enemies at once, even though the difficulty is low, getting surrounded can still knock you down quickly.

Make sure to collect all three dog tags hidden throughout the mission while you progress. Once you reach the end and the mission wraps up, you’ll unlock the Polar Nexus weapon camo as your completion reward.

Pro Tip: If you’re aiming to complete more challenge runs later, start with this one. It teaches you how to play tactically without relying on gunfire — a skill that’ll definitely come in handy on harder modes.
