In Avowed, your adventure takes a dramatic twist when, after surviving a shipwreck and being brought to the city of Paradis, you’re suddenly assassinated. You’re miraculously brought back to life by a shadowy figure, an act that leaves everyone around you in wonder and bewilderment. This revival leads to the quest “An Untimely End,” which sends you in search of the counsel of a Watcher to know the circumstances of your return to life and the figure behind it. The Watcher lives on a mountain, and the way there is not simple, so you have to pass through dangerous paths and overcome environmental challenges.
How to Get to the Watcher in Avowed
In Avowed, you’ve barely escaped a shipwreck only to be murdered in the city of Paradis! Then, something incredible happens: you’re brought back to life by a mysterious entity, leaving everyone stunned. To figure out what’s going on, you need to seek the wisdom of a Watcher, triggering the quest “An Untimely End.”
Reaching the Watcher, who resides atop a mountain, can be tricky. Your journey begins after the quest starts. Leave Paradis through the east exit and enter the Dawnshore’s Southern Embrace. Follow the path indicated by the quest marker. You’ll run into some enemies on Usher’s Hand hill, but you can bypass them if you prefer and continue north towards the Watcher’s location.
Shrine of Woedica Location
As you travel towards the Watcher, you’ll pass under a large doorway, entering the Rise area. The path continues onward, eventually leading into a cave. However, instead of entering the cave, look to your left. You’ll see some climbable rocks. Scale these rocks to reach a higher area. Once you’re up there, cross the bridge and turn right. Keep going until you find the Shrine of Woedica.
You’ll find yourself at the Shrine of Woedica, but the bridge is out – a gaping chasm prevents you from simply jumping across. Don’t worry! Look to the left side of the broken bridge. You should see some Eye of Rymrgand plants growing on the rocks. Pick these plants. Now, open your weapon wheel and select the Eye of Rymrgand. Using them will freeze the water between the broken bridge sections, creating a solid path you can easily cross.
Watcher Location in Avowed
Once you’ve crossed the makeshift ice bridge, follow the winding path. It will eventually lead you to Runyd’s House, located at the very end of the trail. Go inside, and you’ll finally meet the Watcher. The Watcher will then deal with the unknown presence within you, and he will tell you some vital information regarding your miraculous survival. After this meeting, you’ll be a step closer to finishing the “An Untimely End” quest, and you can proceed with the next task.
