In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the “Nobutsuna’s Students” mission is an important part of Yasuke’s story, in which you battle skilled warriors in challenging combat throughout Japan. You first need to finish “An Education,” a mission that teaches you Yasuke’s history and opens up the quest in order to start this mission. Once you begin, you’ll travel through different locations, like mountaintop shrines and hidden groves, facing strong opponents with unique fighting styles. Winning these battles will make Yasuke stronger and reward you with powerful, legendary weapons and special abilities.
All Nobutsuna’s Students Locations
You have to finish the mission “An Education” prior to being able to begin with “Nobutsuna’s Students.” The quest is an in-game history of Yasuke’s past and how he became the strong warrior that he did. After Yasuke is playable, his missions will be available. Once you have completed “An Education,” you will be able to go see Nobutsuna at his mansion. Speaking to him will officially begin “Nobutsuna’s Students” and open up the organization wheel in the Objectives menu.
Yuki no Kata
The fight with Yuki no Kata must be done using a Naginata set aside for the battle. She is waiting at the Ishinohoden Shrine in Harima, within the Kakogawa Estuary province on the southern coast of Harima. To find her, navigate through the shrine and climb the hill directly behind it, where she stands victorious over a fallen warrior. Upon defeating her, you’ll claim the Celestial Blade Legendary Naginata and an Auto-Parry on Block Legendary Engraving.
Yagyu Munatoshi
If you’re up for an unforgettable duel, seek out Yagyu Munatoshi, who is found praying atop a mountain in the Nara Heartland of Yamato. To locate him, scout the mountain range directly north of Takatori. This intense battle will earn you the Rat Tail Finisher Legendary Amulet and an Adrenaline Gain for Naginata Master Legendary Engraving.
Nagano Saemon
Nagano Saemon uses a Bow, and Yasuke again has to make do with the one given for this battle. Saemon is found in Sotomo Gate, Wakasa, in the northwesternmost corner of the map. When you arrive at the marked location, trace a bloody path of dead warriors on the beach, which will ultimately take you directly to Saemon. Defeating him will reward you with the Blood Rain Legendary Bow and a set of Arrows.
Hozoin In’ei
For the battle against Hozoin In’ei, Yasuke must use a Kanabo provided for the fight. Hozoin is hidden within the southeastern corner of the Asuka Rocks Basin, right above the large river that flows through southern Yamato. You’ll find him inside a small temple-like structure known as Choanji Yakushido. Winning this duel grants you the Phantom Fist Legendary Kanabo and a Faster Charged Posture Legendary Engraving.
Asari Nobutane
Asari Nobutane is considered the most frustrating of Nobutsuna’s students, mainly because you’re forced to use the Teppo weapon of his choice. He can be found in a bamboo grove south of Negoroji in northwestern Kii. You can either follow the designated mini-quest to reach him or head directly to his marked location on the map. If you succeed in defeating him, you’ll earn the Dark Burst Legendary Teppo and the Teppo Multishot Legendary Engraving.
Marume Nagayoshi
To find Marume Nagayoshi, you’ll need to follow the “Duel Notices” mini-quest, which will guide you to a signpost just north of Nobutsuna’s estate. From there, make your way to the northwestern tip of Azuchi, beyond Saikoji Temple, in the Omi region. This duel will reward you with the Heartseeker Legendary Amulet and a Kanabo Specialization Legendary Engraving.
Sanada Masatoyo
The final duel awaits after you’ve bested all the other students and returned to Nobutsuna’s estate for “A Cup of Tea.” Your last challenge is Sanada Masatoyo, who resides in the Suzuka Foothills in Omi, near the eastern shore of Lake Biwa. This ultimate showdown marks the grand conclusion of your journey, and victory will reward you with the Crimson’s Edge Legendary Long Katana and an Instant Kill from Bleed Legendary Engraving.
