In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the mission to destroy the corrupt Takahashi Clan takes players to Takashi Goro, a target within the peaceful but dangerous Shokokuji Temple. The Twisted Tree Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To unlock the Twisted Tree organization assassinations, you first need to progress through the main story with Noae. These assassinations become available after you’ve taken down three members of The Shinbakufu: Ido Yoshihiro, Wada Koretake, and Wakasa. Once they’re dealt with, you can start targeting the Takahashi Clan.
Like the main assassination targets, you’ll need to track down members of the Takahashi Clan either by scouting the area yourself or by sending out your Scouts. Using Scouts is much more efficient, and we’ve pinpointed each Takahashi Clan member’s location so you can make the most of them.
Assassinate Takashi Goro in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Head to the Shokokuji Temple near the Shokokuji Pagoda fast travel point in northern Kyoto to find your target, Takahashi Goro. You’ll spot him at the foot of the tower, so make your way down carefully. Approach through the broken building to stay out of sight, but watch out for the lone guard patrolling the area near the house where Goro is stationed. The best way to take him down is from behind, through the doorway. Once you assassinate him, you’ll immediately receive your rewards: an engraving, a level 12 katana (Raijin’s Refusal), and 335 mon.
Can We Spare Takashi Goro
You have the option to either spare or kill Takahashi Goro. When you approach him, you’ll see the prompts to Grab or Assassinate, but instead of choosing either, hold the aim button. This will trigger the “Spare” option when Goro speaks with Naoe. Regardless of your choice, you’ll still receive the same rewards, so there are no consequences to worry about. However, sparing Goro is the better and canon choice, as it aligns with Yasuke and Naoe’s morals. As you progress through The Twisted Tree questline, you’ll also learn that Goro is a victim of his clan’s cruelty and twisted beliefs.
